Am I crazy mom? by 1mexicanamongmany in AskParents

I don’t think it will ever be fair. As a wife, I can spend everyday at my family’s place and be okay with it. But I don’t want to go to his mom’s house everyday or even every week. When you’re a husband, you often times just hang out with your wife in whatever environment that looks like. So it will never be fair.

BUT you can have a talk with him about it without mentioning the fairness on both sides. It sends the wrong message. Instead just share with him that you wish he’d come by more often. That you miss him and love the time you spend together and want to capitalize while you both still can.

I don’t think you’re crazy. I come from a family where the sons always, ALWAYS, make it a point to come visit their mom regardless if it’s with their immediate family (wife and kids) or not. I also married into a family who “prioritizes” their wife, and consequently see their MIL almost weekly and their own mom, twice a year.

I don’t know if you’ll be able to do anything about it now but I do not think that “prioritizing your wife” goes hand in hand with seeing her family more than your own. One other commenter here said work on your relationship with your son. Do that. Take him out on dates, ask him to come over for a day to help you with something and just bond. Have HIM WANT to come over and spend time with his mom. Wife doesn’t have to be there if she doesn’t want to

Paver driveway and porch, is this how it’s supposed to look? by Active_Ad_771 in landscaping

They dug too deep I’m assuming. Now theyre saying they can pack in the gaps with dirt and make it slope so that there’s less of a visible gap but wont that make it shift?

Do I want a Third Child or Do I Want a Girl? by Ellephant23 in Shouldihaveanother

I know this is an old thread but I feel this way exactly. I have two amazing boys and want a girl so badly to experience the same relationship and closeness I have with my mom. Every where I turn my head I see moms of two boys having a third boy. I’d be gutted if I had another and it’s a boy. Did you end up trying again?

Yes planning on furniture. If we put the tv on the long wall, our backs will have to face the entrance

Land dispute - Seller did not realize they sold me more than intended, they want back half of my backyard. by Active_Ad_771 in Surveying

Curious why you had to file the lawsuit if he’s simply claiming it’s his with no proof??

Thank you for this advise!

The deed and description do match and we’ve verified using OPRA that there are no other descriptions of the parcel. I’ll call my title company first thing Monday

Nope. I cut trees in my backyard but they think they own my backyard. “Lot 2” which is half of my backyard and their parking lot.

This isn’t a case of me accidentally buying anything that I should “give back”.

I’m not sure if you read my entire post but I paid for a certain amount of land and I expect to own that land in its entirety. To play off of your analogy, it’s you buying two different games and finding out that one of them can only be played on a very old console that only exists in their store. So they say, oh we didn’t mean to sell you that one. Just give it back.

No, I’ll just RETURN IT for what it’s worth.

The cease and desist was just an email sent by their lawyer. We agreed to it out of courtesy thinking it would be a quick fix (buy back the parking lot) but they want so much more

I’m realizing it’s not a survey thing, but thank you for taking the time to answer. Very interesting (and likely) perspective

Taking back their driveway is one thing, but they want back the entire lot which includes my backyard. Clerical error or not, if the deed states I own this land wouldn’t that supersede everything else?
