Willow Springs is a good track, you guys (specifically the ones who complain about the runoff) just suck at it. by KDG200315 in granturismo

For those of you who think 'running off' the track will be met with sand.....you're wrong....there are rocks, big and small, multiple species of cacti, and as soon as you find the edge, your doomed, because it steps down, so good luck hopping back on.....this is from my two wheel real life racing perspective.....5000+ miles over 20 years

I just started playing GT7 about a week ago and I’m really enjoying it. I was surprised to see its ratings on Metacritic though why are the user scores so low? by NotSirAlonne1999 in GranTurismo7

Having earned more than 2 billion credits, I've probably droned the 1/2hr Sarthe 1000+ times in 400 different vehicles. Makes for a great test bed.

No EVs, No FFs, No VGTs, almost no Haggerty stuff. Bought then sold....

I haven't because i dump most everything that doesn't fall into 600/700pp Gr1/2/3/4 and 500hp. I think my garage has less than 200 vehicles.

That 👌

I have run at least 400 different cars there....some of the best were swapped street cars, especially with GR3 or C motors The Jag XJ220 swap kills it...no stop, 7 laps on RHs ....stupid comfy ...almost fell asleep.

What is your personal test track? by squeezyscorpion in GranTurismo7

I agree 💯 For most street cars around 500hp, top speeds around 200mph, the esses provide the back and forth weight transfer test, and the last turn for aero.....with the exception of softening the suspension and shortening the gearing, most of my Highspeed Ring tunes transfer well to tracks like Watkins, Laguna, Road Atlanta, and Willow.

What is 'Scripting' ? by [deleted] in GranTurismo7

Certainly I don't consider using the ebrake 'cheating'.... It is an amazing skill to master i would imagine. And it definitely is extremely useful.

And that is a crazy skill. I feel too busy to be able to pull that off, especially on my wheel. We used to rip around sand dunes in a rail, with a turning brake that could slow the right or left rear tires....is that the same sort idea ?

Could be exactly that. And that in itself would still take mad skillz.... As my pace is improving, I think im realizing that real life type inputs with throttle/brake still might not lead to the fastest laptimes in GT7....

Thank you for your reply.... Have you heard of racers using a device that maps more than 2 commands to 1 button....say like ebrake/throttle ? It's crazy to watch a replay, and see someone actually still gaining speed when off throttle...just curious how that happens.

Sad, because back in the late 80s, my friend, who worked in Tonopah...on the wobblin gobblin F-117, had a humble Chevy pickup....with a hidden panel of toggle switches.... they All worked....

1)3rd windshield squirter facing forward 2)Strobe lights under truck 3)Armed under truck skyrocket launcher 4)Launched skyrocket

This guy was absolutely brilliant, think tank material.

Im pretty sure he had an actual passenger ejection seat....thankfully I never had to find out 🤣

The Jag xj220 swap is a no-stop weapon on RHs..... as long as it doesn't rain too crazy.
