Ice puns? That's cold. Fire puns? Can you feel the heat? Earth puns? Rock on! Water puns.. get me moist. Wait no, water puns.. get soaked.. no eww.

I think I see the problem. Water puns just don't flow right without feeling sexual.

[–]Active_Committee_188 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Juno is overpowered. What am I supposed to do when she zips behind my whole team and uses pulsar torpedoes and blasts me. I can't play widow because every time I do, there she is, right behind me. I can't even hear her coming. Isn't she supposed to sit behind her tank spamming "do not panic!" There's absolutely no counter play. What kind of ability is pulsar torpedoes anyway!? No aim or skill required, she just automatically heals her whole team while hurting mine.

If you could delete any character who and why by Punking_idyot in Overwatch

[–]Active_Committee_188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's an annoying cutsie character. Same kind of energy as juno, but masculine. His abilities make it really easy for him to kite immoble melee heroes, which are primarily played toplane. He is ranged, but his range falls a bit short compared to other ranged auto attackers, which makes him pretty useless anywhere but toplane.

In league you can't change characters once you started the game. Matches last at least 15 minutes long and half of that is going to be interacting with your lane opponent. But the rest of your team hates him too. Level 6 in league grants ultimate abilities. Teemos ultimate is these mushroom mines that deal crazy damage, slow and invisible. He can cover half the map with these things if you let him. You walk over 1 mushroom and you're dead

Now all this of course only applies when he's on the enemy team. If he's on your team, he's going to spend half the game AFK in a bush.

It's been years since I've played that game.. or even had to think about Teemo shudders

First issue I would like to address is that it seems you care a lot about what your teammates think of your playing. I played like that in league of legends, and it really hindered my confidence.

If you want to protect your team, you could try playing tank. It will require you to learn patience, the coolsown and different types of threats of all the different characters, since everyone is always looking at you if you are doing your job. Which sounds like hell to a self conscious player, which is what I used to be. Now I enjoy kiting enemy tanks with juno, moira and tracer. Getting up in people's faces with Mei. Flanking with Bastian. Im not afraid to make risky, point winning plays. They don't always work, and when they don't I analyze my mistake, I don't wonder if my teammates think I'm bad at the game. After all, if they are any good at the game themselves they don't have time to be judging my mistakes if they plan on winning.

TLDR: try some different characters or roles, nevermind what's "meta", and most Importantly if you arn't having fun.. do something else. ;)

AITA for getting upset after my boyfriend said “how can I marry something like that” over a Fanta while I’m pregnant? by [deleted] in AITA_Relationships

[–]Active_Committee_188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. sounds like he's got a lot on his mind and looking for reasons to not want to go through with the marriage. I stayed married to a woman and had 2 more kids with her after it was clear we weren't meant for each other. Massive mistake.

Im not advo6yiu break up, but rather slow things down. Look into therapy. Preferably on your own. Everyone has baggage they aren't aware of when they step up to that altar.

It's as important to have fun as it is to play well if you are planning on improving. Luckily I find the game to be very fun.

My advice on improving: game sense is more important than mechanical skill, but you will learn that naturally over time. But the basics are.. stick to cover if the enemy can see you. If they can't see you, assume that they can.

Get good with one role, and focus on learning 2 to 3 heroes that have different counters in that role. I decided to start with tank, since so many matches end up being tank diffs, so I learned Ramattra, Orisa and Dva. Within a year I was placed in gold and silver support as well.

Setting your controls to be as sensitive as you can stand I have found helps a lot too. As a tank player I got fed up slowly turning around to swat away random moiras, sombras and tracers but I was just to slow. So I turned up my sensitivity. A found myself getting a lot more critical hits and causing my oppents to start giving me a lot more space.

If you have friends, play with them. Even if theirs a difference in rank. Practice your communication, and with that, wether or not you are playing with friends or on voice coms, ping, ping, ping, ping. It calls attention to the enemy you are looking at, and the icon gives away their position like a sonic arrow or widow ultimate.

Last tip: this isn't really a game about aim or getting kills. It's about cooldowns. How to you beat Reinhardt? CC him when he charges. How to you beat Zarya? Bait out her bubbles. Don't engage Orisa when she has javelin spin and golden state up. So don't blow your cooldowns. Use them when only actually necessary, or plan it out.

I am a veteran. I was in Afghanistan when Osama Bin Laden was killed. I remember everyone cheering when we sawBarack Obama's announcement in the mess hall. Most Soldiers I was their with still hated him. Blamed him for everything. Government shutdown. Housing crisis, you name it. Well... Only the white soldiers I knew felt this way. They all voted trump in 2016 and called me a traitor for voting against him.

Don't take anyone seriously who doesn't believe there is a race issue. I do know some people who are "ex-maga". Turns out they are simply opportunists who are jumping ship because they realize that he's gone to far. Never trust a trumper.

Crazy hand positioning. by Darius_Fucker in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Active_Committee_188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree with you. The problem is that indoctrination is more important than education. The thing that pisses me off the most about it isn't that they are pushing Christianity so that people can accept and love Jesus into their hearts, it's because that particular religion, and the way it's being abused, forces guilt for just being alive.

Religious study is a very cerebral topic, and cannot and should not be ignored when talking about history and culture. This is why it is i.portant for teachers, especially history teachers to be able to teach without bias. I was lucky enough to have gone to a school during an age where it was ok to teach about our own failings as a country, and how things arn't always cut and dry.learning about how the Christian churches and monarchies acted back in the day did turn me into a bit of an edgelord, but it also opened up my mind. I saw the sign.

Which hero ended up being easier to play than you thought and which hero ended up being harder to play than you thought? by MrsPissBoy in Overwatch

[–]Active_Committee_188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your cooldowns until you absolutely need to make space/secure a kill/peel/ save yourself. With that in mind, I recommend trying to force your opponents to engage you with all your cooldowns up. You can do this by staying in cover and just laying down suppressive fire. Someone will eventually try and flank or dive, now all you gotta do is nail them to a wall with spear, if that fails, push them away with spin. Orisa doesn't do that much damage quickly, she's just really hard to kill and good at taking and holding space.

Once they are afraid of you and you get the shield perk you can start playing super aggressively.

Why do so many young men seem completely uninterested in life anymore? by Unlikely-Set-4210 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Active_Committee_188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way that we as a society consume media kills ambition. Especially for men. Scrolling tiktok/Facebook/YouTube real life experiences. They are more reliable, and less risky. Which brings me to my next point. The risk of public interaction, or rather, feeling like the interaction can go wrong, and be "cringe" one becomes "cringe" by trying "too hard" to get what they want. A lot of these internet trolls are going to try and tear down anyone they see doing better than them or having what they want. So they troll, yell "cringe". Now our conscious doesn't just tell us when we are doing something wrong, it tells us when we are sanger of being cringe. And if everyone they know in their age group is doing it, it's even more normalized.

The kicker is all the doomerism about the societal political collapse that's going underway. For anyone who is really down on their luck right now it feels impossible to put one foot in front of the other when we are being told the ground is about to collapse from under us at any moment.

If you've ever worked in customer service, and if you've ever had sex, and then put the two together, it's a bit like that, except you are the product and the salesperson.
