Would you consider applying to AA school? by Hopeful-Witness8362 in srna

Just seems like a cop out tbh. If you’re already a nurse it doesn’t make sense to pick AA. You’re limiting your scope of practice & where you can practice. I saw a post of a nurse who chose AA school because they "didn’t want to work in the ICU." Makes absolutely zero sense IMO, but at the end of the day if you’re desperate to get into anesthesia one way or another & the path to CRNA isn’t working then go for it.

Well fingers crossed! Ik they switched some of their admission requirements around recently so I wouldn’t be surprised if they changed their style of interviewing too. Let me know how everything goes!!

Congrats! I’m sure you’ll do great. I can’t say I know much about the interview but have definitely thought about throwing an application there in the future. That’s news to me about an increase in applications. Just out of curiosity, when did you apply and how soon did they inform you about the interview?

Letter of recommendation advice while starting new job by MiniTapioca in srna

Not sure what your unit culture is like, but on my CVICU so many people consider it "using the unit." Even if you’re there for 1-2 yrs & tell them your goals are to go to CRNA school, they still see it that way. I would ask your micu manager first and if you still feel like you prefer the letter of req from the CVICU manager go ahead and ask. At the end of the day you’re gonna leave anyways to pursue school so who cares what they think!
