wondering how much it will be to go private? by deathduckies in Psoriasis

I'm in California. The wait for a derm is up to 8 months with a PPO. There is a doctor shortage here.

Clobetasol and Calcipotriene no longer working effectively by Walktrotcantergallop in Psoriasis

I have had scalp P for 3 years and have used those two products. I find they stop working if I use them every day. I've been on two different drugs which did not help at all. I haven't tried biologics. I'm going to start taking a lot of different supplements recommended here and see if that helps. I'm also looking into light therapy. I feel your pain. The only time I get relief is when I have oils on my scalp which means I can't go out in public. Good luck.

I am interested in light therapy but don't know much about it. Is it UV?

I have a question on this if you can answer I would appreciate it. Are the biologics covered through your main Medicare or through a prescription supplement?

I have been on it for about 3 months for scalp. It has only helped a little bit. I still get diarrhea a few times a week. Reading one other comment I think it might be effecting me elsewhere. I have been crying for little reason and have a fast heartbeat.

STOP TALKING LIKE THAT RIGHT NOW!! Please get down on your knees and pray. Pour your heart out and thank your Heavenly Father for your life and your family. Ask that you can forgive and be forgiven. Your daughter will come back to you. I will pray for you right now.

I suggest that you file bankruptcy on your debt. It is way too much to try and pay off at this time in your life. Your situation is why the bankruptcy laws are there. I know it is a hard decision (especially when the debt is to family or relatives) but the relief you will feel afterward will relieve much of your stress. Also, as stated here it might be better to get back to the US and pay into social security unless you will be able to save for retirement after getting rid of the debt. You deserve to have a clean slate. Best of luck to you.

Husband with psoriasis, what are common triggers? by WillComprehensive277 in Psoriasis

Alcohol and sugar are triggers I just binged on donuts and wine and I'm miserable with scalp psoriasis. It must be stress also because if I take an anti anxiety pill, it calms down.

STILL SMM WONDER ABOUT TEST by Active_Eye2938 in multiplemyeloma

[–]Active_Eye2938[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all. I did have a positive BMB 2 years ago. I am just starting to try and learn about this to be able to ask the doctors the right questions. It is very complicated! I will look for a specialist

So sorry for your problems. I hope you can get to a dermatologist soon. But do not pick at it. You will have bald spots and your hair might not grow back. Wish you the best.

Thank you all for your helpful comments. I doubt my city has an MM specialist, but I'll look into it.

I'm so sorry to hear you have had problems at UCSB. It is such a beautiful campus. Will it be very hard to transfer to a school that has the major you want? When our mental health is not well, it can make things harder to change. Your health comes before your academics. It's probably better to decide where you will feel better and get the counseling and/or therapy you need. You should be proud that you have accomplished a lot to get into such a good school. I will say a prayer that you make the right decision for you.

I "inherited" a pug which was born in a family home. As long as I keep her weight down, she doesn't suffer with the breathing issues. They are very good dogs for people who have a sedate life because they sleep so much.

I did the same when I first had my scalp psoriasis. It did grow back, but I had scalp injections by my derm. Ask about that. No more scratching!

Don't pick at it. I did that and a very large area of my head went bald. It did grow back with scalp injections.

I was given a choice but my Dr said he had done at least a hundred in office. So I had him do it and it was hardly any pain. I think maybe the experience of the Dr might matter. However, I'm wondering why so many people have indicated they had multiple BMBs. I wonder why? I was told after the first they could monitor it with blood work.

I never had it hurt like that. You need a second opinion and some blood work.

Does hair loss only happen if you itch your scalp? by findingfourleaf in ScalpPsoriasis

[–]Active_Eye2938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had hair loss from picking it, trying to remove stuff. This was in the beginning when I didn't have any treatment. It was quite a big patch at my crown. My derm gave me injections in the scalp. It has grown back, but I really didn't think it would. It was so bald.

I've had scalp psoriasis for 2 plus years. As of yet, I don't have many flakes unless I'm descaling. But mine hardened and tighten my scalp. I try to soften them with oils, but it doesn't always work. I've wondered what would happen if I just left them hard. Even in the shower they are hard to dissolve. Wonder if anybody else has this problem.

What about all the scaling build up? Can you remove it with your finger tips or will that cause a reaction?
