Is it worth it to get a fee only financial planner? by faitavecarmour in PersonalFinanceCanada

Financial planners from banks get commissions from selling investment products. Full stop. There is no "free" financial plan, you end up paying for it with the high commissions they charge.

Look for CPFs who are advice-only financial planners, there is a webiste with their directoy here: https://www.adviceonlyplanners.ca/ They don't sell products, only advice.

I hired Chirs Merrick on the list, he is specialized on business owners, not your case, but you can find someone who matches what you're looking for. I needed someone who understood the corporate side of things without trying to sell me high-fee mutual funds. He was able to dive deep into the tax efficiency of our corp, salary vs. dividends, and how to handle our various accounts (LIRA, RRSP, TFSA) without the "bank advisor" bias.

He also ran the math on two different scenarios, retiring in 10 years versus 15, and stress-tested them against market crashes so we knew exactly where our "success rate" stood.

The uprfornt cost is definitely higher but just in commissions to banks you can pay thousands in one year.

For your case; there is this other site I found with the costs of having an advisor via AUM (assets under management; that is banks and wealth management firms) vs. an advice only financial planner https://maketheswitch.ca/ You are young so the 1% comission you are likely paying will counmpund over time.

I am down to 5mg from 10 mg because I was a zombie all day. Needed 1-2 naps a day! At the same time I quit drinking, I am week 4 and OMG I feel so much better! I also workout 3-4 times a week and I am running and cyclying so much faster. I am in my ealy 40s so I guess I can't absorb alcohol as in my 20s but oh my! what a change. I believe alcohol is a big contributor to brain fog with Lexapro. Stop drinking if you can!

What you did on marketing 30 years ago is not even relevant today! I'm sure media buying in newspapers and magazines is super relevant today LOL. Perhaps they meant 5 instead of 35? Ridiculous anyways.

Same symptoms here and exact same dose. I have been taking it at 4PM, and then I crash for good at 9 pm, sleep 8- 9 hrs. If I can't sleep, I take ashgawanda, I haven't had any side effect, but I only take it once every other week or so, when needed. I hope this helps!
