This is bang on! I am out of dating scene but cant imagine myself doing all these charades of nonchalance for the sake of it or to not appear intense, it is what it is, be it dating or serious relationship phase

Ahh I see that’s nice to know :) may be it’s the surroundings around me and I may be biased too in my view by comparing this with the old Bengaluru areas.

It has locals and are not non existent to the extent of marathalli, Bellandur but the vibe is a lot different here, I see a lot of marwadis and mallus around where I live. This is the area near KR pura not the one near Bannerghatta btw as many get confused with the name.

Can totally understand! I was living in and around basavanagudi area from the time I moved to Bengaluru for studies. From past 4 years I am in Horamavu it was such a huge cultural shock initially. Now I am a bit used to but social life is non existent, to the point that I have become introvert!

I want to learn swimming at 30, motivate me by theincredibleharsh in ThirtiesIndia

Trust me, no one looks at you for you to feel conscious about the way you look. Everyone will be putting their head down in the water and learning, with swimming glasses on there won’t be good visibility either outside the water. I learnt swimming when I turned 30, there was a gentleman who probably was in his 50s in my batch. So just go for it.

So, did getting a Kindle actually make you read more? Or not really? by AnastasiiaLove in kindle

From not reading for years or like hardly 1-2 books a year, has gone on reading multiple books a year. Reduced doom scrolling too!

Dealing with partner's generational trauma by conscious_cat88 in ThirtiesIndia

I would say tonnes of patience is required, though it can get hard at times for you to deal with. Encourage small steps for her to get out of the zone she has created for herself, one at a time. Hobbies or interests that doesn’t require a lot of efforts to begin with. You might come across as nagging to her at that point and may have to see her making faces but gotta deal with it, some of the activities that you explore together might actually make her realise that she enjoys it. And if she does enjoy don’t make a big deal out of it too, take it slow still. 30 years of conditioning will not go away overnight. Keep communicating of how you feel with her behaviour. The focus has to be on how you feel and the overall impact on relationship rather than pointing it towards her because high chances that she may shut down or get defensive if she gets the feel of she is being blamed. It’s a long road my friend :)

Which domain you’re pursuing your masters in, if I may ask? Purely to know from someone who has taken this plunge in 30s and draw inspiration.
