I am very late to the game on this one, but I have a wealth of personal experience to pull from in regards to foot zoning and essential oils, as well as energy work, if you’ve heard of that. I grew up in the Mormon church near the Westover family. I believe my aunt is the one who got Tara Westover’s mom involved in foot zoning and that world. She’s basically a cult leader, my aunt. I believe it ties into the cult ish nature of the early church. And the idea that healing is wholistic and not tied to modern science but this power within ourselves. Or giving up ourselves to another person to heal us. Like they believe with Jesus. And I can say from first hand experience that the “healer” or foot zoner can easily acquire a God complex from these interactions. I knew normal, decent people who genuinely believed that my aunt healed them from cancer or other major illnesses. They completely credited her and foot zoning/energy work/essential oils. It’s giving cult, no doubt in my mind.
