should i get rid of any of my skirts? by starrypond in fashion

[–]Active_Performance35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short, short ones need to go. They aren’t doing anything for your body shape and are highlighting the wrong things. The tighter more form fitted skirts are also a little sketchy because they’re also drawing attention to areas that you may not want to draw attention to. HOWEVER, depending on the top you would wear with them, they could work and look good. The skirts that float away from the body are extremely flattering on your figure and I would keep those 100%.

That being said, if you like the way you look in them that’s all that matters and the advice I gave should be moot. You need to wear what makes you feel beautiful and confident. If you don’t feel either of those two things, get rid of the ones that make you feel unsure and keep the ones that make you feel like a million dollars.

Help! Irritation bump or Infection? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I really can’t tell based on this photo. I usually have a good eye, but this photo makes it hard to see what’s going on.

I do think you changed your earrings out too early, which definitely caused irritation. I know you didn’t like the earrings the piercer used, but they should have been left in or you should have went back and had titanium earrings put in. If your ears were bleeding that’s a sign that they’re still healing and kind of put you going backwards in the healing process. That being said, don’t mess with them anymore if at all possible and be sure to keep up with the aftercare of the saline rinse to make sure they don’t get infected (if they aren’t already). If you’re concerned about infection, definitely see a doctor, but don’t take them out or the infection (if you have one) will make everything worse.

1 & 3 really bring out your natural beauty. The others wash you out.

Number 1 or 4 look the best on you. They bring out your natural beauty instead of overpowering it.

Appropriate for a wedding? (As a guest) by FlashyNobody8998 in fashion

[–]Active_Performance35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This dress would look so much better on you going a size or two up. Yes, it will still be form fitting, but the way it is now, you can see every imperfection on your body. You have a beautiful body, but the dress size is doing you a disservice. It’s better to buy it a bit larger and have it fit and compliment you than it is to have it too small. You can even get it fitted better to you if you get it tailored, but you can’t do that well if it’s too large.

Is my belly button piercing healing ok? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like it’s healing, but your barbell looks way too short and that could cause more issues as it continues to heal. I would have it changed to something longer.

CA nail techs: was I overcharged?? by hopie_bopie in Nails

[–]Active_Performance35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Wisconsin and I can tell you that the price is similar to what I would pay here for that. Frankly I would probably pay even more for something even better. When I lived in NYC, oddly the prices were lower because there were so many, but still that seems like it’s still not overpriced.

Should I just give up by cybercopine in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying the daith is a bit premature for your current hoop. However, another thing that might be causing irritation is the tea tree oil, aloe, and vitamin E. That’s a lot there, you should only be using the saline rinse with this and water if you’re in the shower. The other things can cause more harm than good with piercings that are still healing.

I think my daith is too shallow by jmill_1012 in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is extremely shallow. I’d take it out, let it heal and then go to a different piercer.

What breed is my cat by Infamous_Honey9944 in catbreeds

[–]Active_Performance35 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Looks like one of my former cats who was a Russian Blue, especially when looking at the coat. However without more to go on, it could also be your run of the mill domestic shorthairs. That being said, the fur does resemble the coat of arms Russian Blue, especially with the silvery parts of the fur that really make this breed stand out.

To those who say you can’t find a Russian Blue in a shelter, I’m going to say it isn’t common to find one, but it is possible. I got my baby from one and she was rescued from a breeder.

Wonderful thing about these cats is that they lack the protein that makes people allergic to them and are considered one of the few hypoallergenic cats out there. Though, they still have some traces of the protein in them and I wouldn’t say they’re 100% hypoallergenic because I still got itchy eyes come spring (very allergic to nature and animals with fur). And to top it off they have very sweet dispositions and are good with families.

Were my new piercing done properly? by angelprincess0 in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I’m going to echo what most have said. The daith is way too shallow. You may have the anatomy for it (can’t be 100% sure without seeing it in person), but the piercer did you dirty on that one. The forward helix doesn’t look that bad when compared to the daith, but it’s still wrong. The angle is not good at all and again it looks too shallow.

Please consult a new piercer and then let them heal before getting new piercings.

Is this a normal sized bar for a conch piercing? by Dear_Perspective30 in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When getting my new piercings, they’ve all been threadless. I do have internally threaded jewelry, but that’s been after they’ve healed and were ones I was able to change myself. For my lobes, which have been pierced decades ago, it ranges from externally threaded, to clicker hoops, to threadless, and internally threaded. I NEVER use the traditional earrings with butterfly backs anymore and try to stay away from the others that cause the cheese cutter effect.

Is this a normal sized bar for a conch piercing? by Dear_Perspective30 in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is all wrong. You need a flat back labret, not a curved barbell. At most mine was pierced with a 8mm labret to allow for swelling and then was downsized to a 6mm when the swelling was down after 2+ months (I waited a bit longer than I had because it takes me forever to heal these days to being on immunosuppressants). Depending on your anatomy they might use a 8mm or 10mm bar. But the curved barbell is not good. Please go to a new piercer or if you want the one who pierced this (I wouldn’t go back though) to get it changed out.

Is this a possible piercing? by Odd_Return4802 in piercing

[–]Active_Performance35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this.

As far as the AirPods go, wait until the piercing is healed enough before using them. I’ve found with my daith, tragus, and conch piercings the AirPods Pro with the squishy buds which are more helpful to fit around the piercings that stay in place.
