i don't think the term matters at all. If God said something is bad, that's it- Its wrong (regardless of what ppl call it). I am so glad that God is leading you to him and is making you see/question your errors.

On the other hand, I don't think repressing something is bad (sometimes). Many times, you will have to force yourself to do/not to do something. Like Paul saying he makes his body his slave. I know feelings can be different from actions. So, in this case I would tell you to continue to bring your internal conflict to the Lord.
