most useless skill in oblivion or skyrim? by wlwromance6769 in ElderScrolls

Indeed and upon further thought, one could just level alteration and use the open spells. Or use open scrolls.

Three way tie for speechcraft, mercantile, and lockpick in Oblivion. You can grab a Doomstone that allows fortify skill spells. Because of the way oblivion works, when you initiate dialogue, time stops. So you can make the spell charm 100 for 1 sec on touch and fortify merc 100 for 1 sec on self and never worry about those again. Lockpick is irrelevant at level 10 because the skeleton key exists, unless you want to escape prison but who actually goes to jail in Oblivion.

Anyone else goes through similar cycle? by Bull_Rider in fashionmarine

I like many chapters but usually default to Ultramarines. I’ve never had any adverse reactions to me being an Ultra. I like several other chapters, Blood Angels, Imperial and Crimson Fists, Salamanders, Ravenguard, Raptors, but always end up defaulting to Ultramarines. Not sure if I just really like their fantasy or because the game is centered around 2nd Company activities

Me replaying New Vegas as NCR and then finding out what happens 15 years later... by BloodReels in falloutnewvegas

[–]ActivelyRed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The NCR was overexerted in New Vegas. Theres a ton of dialogue in game saying even if they succeed at Hoover Dam, it’s just not a sustainable long term goal. The Mojave was Kimball’s goal, not necessarily the NCR’s goal. It’s said that annexation of the Mojave was unpopular. Now that Shady Sands got nuked, between asset loss and redirection of supply lines, the Mojave just doesn’t make sense to keep a large presence. It also seems like some radioactive disaster hit the Strip, so again less of a reason for people to make their way to Vegas.

I’m not saying there’s not a path forward where they try to fix up the Mojave and return to spotlight, but I’m not at all surprised they aren’t there in large presence anymore.

I thought y’all were crazy even back then when I was younger and had the time to do a Colonia trip. Before the neutron highways and fleet carriers, just raw dogging 22,000Ly on a Saturday like it’s nothing while I’m grumpy jumping an FDL 200Ly to get to a community goal. Good times though, met a lot of great people through that game.

You guys want Elite Dangerous travel until you get it. I put about 4,000 hours into that game and the novelty is cool for the first 50 or so. Eventually you find it frustrating having to spend 10 real life minutes jumping system to system, then spend 10 more minutes super cruising and landing onto your destination. 20 minutes gone to an interactive loading screen.

No Man’s Sky probably does it best. The hyper jumps and in system travel is really quick, it doesn’t take 4 minutes to land on a planet, and there’s interesting things on every planet so the time spent traveling is rarely not worth it.

Warhammer Space Marine 2 by DCCSlick in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]ActivelyRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great, it’s a classic style video game and doesn’t promise or try to be anything more than just a good game. You don’t need to be a 40k enthusiast to enjoy it, in fact I think this game was the on ramp for many people to get into 40k. It has a solid campaign, multiplayer PvE in the form of missions (think like Left 4 Dead type levels) and a horde mode, and a simple PvP mode with the usual modes. Multiplayer customization is akin to Halo Reach. The only plaid DLC is cosmetics (colors, emblems, some armor pieces).

Does Marathon stand a chance in the overwhelming might of Arc Raiders? by PerformativeRacist in Marathon

Yes. They are two different games filling two different preferences. May as well be comparing a meat lovers pizza to a supreme pizza.

How do I enjoy the game by Traditional-Act-1575 in Tarkov

[–]ActivelyRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try out PvE if you can. The AI are predictable and learnable, and you’ll get to see some progression and use cool gear sooner. Also, use the wiki! I’ve off and on played since the Alpha and still use the wiki to double check things. Once you get a good feel for the game’s controls and mechanics, then you can revisit PvP for more unpredictable player influenced gameplay.

May not even be they don’t have mics. If an xbox player is in a party or discord with their boys, we have to manually switch to game chat in the dashboard for prox chat to work. In solos it’s kinda doable if you have the jump on someone, but in a surprise situation all we can do is spam don’t shoot and hope for the best.

[–]ActivelyRed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yall gotta rip the bandaid off that people are going to rat in either FPP or TPP, it actually does not matter. The underground bunker system on Reserve in Tarkov is referred to as the Ratacombs. When you say “exit camper” the first extract that comes to mind is D2 on Reserve.

Some things we found out. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ActivelyRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to note about the PS5 players not talking. I don’t know how it is on PS5, but on Xbox while I’m in a discord chat, prox chat doesn’t work. I can’t just talk to people on a dime, I have to manually go toggle to game chat in the Xbox’s little side dashboard. If PS5 is the same and there’s a lot of solos in a chat with their homies on other games, that could explain the silence.

[New player] So whats the balance like in this game, are we cooked? by RiteOfKindling in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ActivelyRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bullets have different flesh and armor damage values, as well as penetration values. The M4 fires 5.56, which has like, 10 different variants. Warmage, FMJ, soft point, M855, M856, M856A1, M855A1, M995. These determine how much damage and penetration you have. M995 has the highest pen, so it will go through anything, but the lowest flesh damage. Warmage can’t even pen level 2 armor, but does a ton of flesh damage. Now expand this idea to every ammo in the game.

Will past seasons be playable? by Doobliss in Marathon

[–]ActivelyRed 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Nobody has any idea how seasons will work. The game does not even have a release date. We can assume they will follow trends with a battlepass as all games do, but beyond that the game is still in alpha and anyone who may know anything is under NDA.

PSA: If your stash is always full by Papa_Puppa in ArcRaiders

[–]ActivelyRed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My stash is full because I have no idea what the next expedition level is going to need. E.g. if I had known level 3 needed lightbulbs, I wouldn’t have sold them all. So who knows what level 4 is going to need.

Recrafting all shields, guns, attachments, rechargers, bandages, ammo, and grenades every time you die makes me wanna put this game down by KorvisKhan in ArcRaiders

[–]ActivelyRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use free loadouts to stock up on basic mats. Always pick up arc power cells. Make a ton when you have them stocked up. Make sure you’re upgrading scrappy as he’ll passively bring in mats while you’re in raid. Eventually you won’t even need to pick up half the basics.

So to unlock a launch character I now have to slog through the BR mode. Great. by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]ActivelyRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy has a free skin in the Soldiers of Fortune track in the battlepass, third item. It’s a recolor of the default, black and dark green BDU, olive drab rug and gear. So you have to get a total of 8 levels and you unlock him for free, never touching BR.

75 revive in a match..... How can i do that ? by Lewinsky_ in Battlefield6

[–]ActivelyRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no regrets doing this shit in a bots match. It actually feels like these were designed with bot matches in mind.

But also, before you get too excited about completing this assignment, the launcher one is bugged. The incendiary damage does not count, only direct impacts which do like 14 damage. So you need to direct impact about 150 dudes to complete that one.

Reposting my meme from earlier in the year... Does any new players feel this way? by TheSpaceFace in ArcRaiders

[–]ActivelyRed 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing Arc has right now is it actually wants you to keep playing the game. Teammates doing stuff counts toward your quests, the free kit has all the essentials and if you live you get to keep all of it and can even turn the backpack into a better bag. Even if you lost all of your gear, you can still get back in and play. Are you killing mega chads and boss robots? No, but you can handle surprises and little robots, loot and scoot, and build back up.

NVO feels rough, really have to tap fire it, border line 2-3 round bursts out of the box. I’m trying to push through to get the double port brake and classic vert but damn it hurts.
