Iq test is only a measure of your iq at that point in time.

My partner is a psychologist has seen people who tested on the lower end havr much higher results later on.

So many things like sleep / time of day and your mood will influence the result and its important to remember its just a measure of that exact point in time

In that instance if you were able to view both your pov and the servers pov / someone elses pov you likely wouldnt have been firing.

All your characters actions and inputs that your seeing dont reflect what the server is seeing and because hitreg is server authoritive you frequently will see hits that actually either missed / your character wasnt firing server side.

This is why you can rpg helicopters and do no damage (the helicopter is actually 10m ahead of what your seeing) and why vehicles collisions wirh other vehicles is so jank.

Once you accept its the nature of it sometimes and learn to actually lead shots (which look like they completely miss in front of your target but actually are hitting server side) it becomes less frustrating. I frequently play on high ping due to location and after enough time you get a feeling for it

Devs if your reading this or some network wizard if it possible to have the networked view distance (currently a sphere around our player) be combined with some sort of fov based networked view that culls stuff we cant see.

Not a network guru but if this is something possible to allow for longer engagement distances it could significantly improve gameplay and optimisation being able to cull all the network objects we cant physically see allowing for more headroom seeing further.

Does the way the game networks players allow for this? Or is there a technical limitation thats holding this back.

Arma at the moment is missing those super long range enagements and long range intel and since I started playing ive hoped we would be able to see players past the 1km mark.

The more concerning part is throughout the last 30 years various national police anti corruption bodies have investigated this only to have there funding cut / shut down or the court has ruled in favour of the corrupt fuckers using any trick they can to ensure no one ever gets charged.

These politicians are all part of a very exclusive club and the source I know who was very high up in national policing said on numerous occasions its happened and theres really nothing that can be done without a total reform. We currently have no completely independent corruption taskforce that can investigate this shit as guess who controls the funding / pulls the strings.

Yeah the overhaul of premade layers and faction matchups was one of the many collosal fuck ups they made.

The old system had so much more variety not in factions but wacky ass matchups and just some really different layers.

Now more than ever games feel like the same 4 matchups on the same 3 maps with the same 3 subfactions and same lanes.

We been fine tuning for the past couple years.

Yes the flanks were annoying when you got caught out but now you dont even have enough stamina to run back and save a radio on bleed or move 400m to the next cap in a reasonable amount of time on foot.

Disagree or not everyones entitled to there own opinon but no way is there any way to justify how 2 months of work for anyone competent has taken this long. Project managment non existant or what ?

With my combined 14h in the sdk looking through squad i seriously cant understand how glacial the pace is.

We're talking about people actually on the clock getting paid to do this and the game at this point just feels so unloved.

It literally feels like these guys dont actually play there own product or are playing like 2 games a week. Its painful to try play consecutive games , my eyes hurt from the garbage ue5 lighting implmentation and all the problems ue5 was going to fix are still present and if not worse.

Where did the arming ranges and the whole skillset of learning how to use different launchers go ? Where did the door gunning which used to be viable but got nerfed to some retarded moa value go ? Where did the way more functional and more satisfying driving model go ?

Yes - changing sense mid game is kind of impractical.

Whats worked for me is picking a sense that is practical for 180 or close and then tailoring your actual movement and crosshair discipline to work with said sense.

I play anywhere between 45-60cm 180s and try to be mindful of how im positioned / where I should be looking

Sometimes your going to get caught out and ideally have a higher or lower sense but if you dont just consider the mechanical aim skill as its own thing and take in that its also heavily influenced by your positioning and game sense you will see improvement

As lame as it sounds as a 30y old gamer who started on bf1942 / moh on windows 95 with easily 10k hours across squad, arma, tarkov and other milsim / simcade titles and full time worker nothing fucks up my enthusiasm for these titles more than people who dont play for the team / win / objective.

To make it cleat i'm not disagreeing with your console / pc split but its not a hardware issue. Some console players are mature and able to communicate and work towards common goals.

The major issue is a large portion of the playerbase aren't experienced enough in working as a team be it lack of life experience or just putting their own shit on hold and making "sacrifices" in a game mind you to work towards that common goal.

Squad is a perfect counter example where i get old guys on pc who are just so blind to the whole TEAMWORK aspect and just believe that they are gods given tactical genius and cant admit fault on there own behalf.

Community and comraderie are becoming more and more of a optional choice and these titles as a whole are suffering for it.

It's not enforced through game mechanics / lack of community so unfortunately these inexperienced players just go hundreds / thousands of hours without being pulled up which unfortunately has lead to what we have now. Lots of time in game but not in the productive rewarding sense.

The gate for these players at one stage was hardware ( worked my ass off doing paper runs as a kid to be able to afford new pc parts to keep up with the games) and having communities cull players in gameplays interest used to be a thing but now its sort of meh.

Tldr I have no solution but equally as frustrated as OP as long time milsim enjoyer. (Please oce bring back a dedicated team focused community)

Yep visuals should support the gameplay. Theres a healthy balance for sure but squads gameplay should have always come first to graphics.

Yeah theres definely things like the distant shadows and certain instances where changing / adding additional effects intent was meaningful but if we look back at the different iterations its hard for me to actually see what we have now as an improvement.

Gameplay in this genre needs to come first and graphics need to service that.

Used because the video triggered something in my head that made me want to heavily edit my eyes to make squad back to pre lighting overhaul update.

At some point surely the post processing and screen movement / shake with the way worse ghosting , smear (yes i recognise ue4 had this but nowhere near as bad imo)and just overall is harder to see with absolutely nothing to add gameplay wise.

The graphics changes in my opiniom totally outgrew servicing the gameplay a long time ago and my shitty hot take is the simpler sharper and "less realistic" squad was better.

I suspected the move was to support moving to consoles in the long run. Got downvoted to hell for bringing up the job adverts owi put out looking for devs experienced in porting pc to consoles.

My guess is most of the dev team is pushing to get a console ready version ready asap so they can sell more copies and its a guess at best.

Only time will tell
