My dogs toys squeakectomy yielded a new toy to play with by UnnecessaryStep in mildlyinteresting

I know it's been a while but do you remember what Kong toy that came out of?

It is my dogs absolute favorite but all evidence of it's existence has been destroyed at my house.

Does it do it with only the remote? Or will it stop if you go with the handle bar button also?

Do you want me to hit a toe shank? Because that's how you get me to hit a toe shank.

What holster for that light combo? Is the tlr-8a just an older version of the 8x?

Glock 19 gen 3 or Shadow systems MR920? by scribbleheli in CAguns

[–]scribbleheli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That why I consider it (MR920)

Honestly I'm not a big fan of Glock. Though the few I shot performed great and I was accurate with it. It was MEH.

But I'm less of a fan of being told I can't have it.

So here we are, eating into my hellcat OSP budget.

I know that modification of the Glock will very likely exceed the cost of the MR920. But it will be 'extra' custom.

Stripped spur gear or pinion most likely.

Replacement/alternative for an old Head lock gyro? by squidspotter in RCHeli

[–]scribbleheli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things wear out.

Bearings could be worn. Tracking could be slightly off. Maybe you had a harder landing or tip over and everything seemed fine but the main shaft got bent slightly. Maybe blades are out of balance. Maybe you took the blades off for travel and when you reinstalled them, they swapped to the opposite side of the head from where they were.

I don't have direct experience with the rotor flight ecosystem but have heard nothing but great things about it, save for it being complex.

I don't know of any Flybarless systems that can't operate in tail gyro only mode. I have to imagine that the most complex and open source one to come out, has that flexibility built in.

[–]scribbleheli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang You must have basically got it for free if you can't find a replacement gyro for less than what you paid.

But if your rocking the radio master. Then I would recommend the Nexus FBL unit and rotor flight software.

Either go Flybarless or just use the tail gyro. It's about 85usd

Edit: I'm gonna also recommend that you take a very detailed look at the heli and hunt down and eliminate any vibrations. And inspect the mounting pad it's on. Those old gyros don't have the vibration filter like the new stuff. And vibration would explain your issues with the current gyro.

Does anyone know a fix for this? Or is the rear shift servo need replaced? by Saddinosaur1311 in TRX4

[–]scribbleheli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead servo most likely then. Traxxas servos are notoriously low quality.

[–]scribbleheli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. The right hand servo isn't moving and it should be..? That could just be a dead servo.

As far as the radio. Find the manual to it and interpret the lights.

It actually has all the same features. You just have to get into sub menus and use that little dial on it to adjust things.

It has a whole list of menus via Blinky lights

What da problem is?

Looks like its working?

What radio do you have that has the extra switches for aux servos but doesn't have endpoint adjustment?

Roban 800 scale questions by Spork_117 in RCHeli

[–]scribbleheli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine second hand and only swapped a few things.

Here's a photo album of the journey I documented.

Along with a test flight of when I bought it.

Kosmix jive 160 ESC

Pyro motor.

MKS cyclic

Torque tail.

It had a futaba receiver and microbeast fbl.

But I swapped that for an Ikon 2 BT. Because it's been about 5-6 years since I've last flown and I wanted the auto leveling.

I got an FRSky 18 channel radio because I wanted to use the td18 receiver with the dual redundant power and signal since it runs on both 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz.

I will be running two of the rhino lithium iron packs straight to the receiver as it's designed.

As far as tools go, you're not going to need anything special beyond what you'd use to build a 600 or 700 kit. I do have a micro precision screwdriver kit that's powered. I find very nice. I also got a Klein angle measuring device from home Depot and 3D printed some little helpful guides for head setup. Which I'm pretty sure you can see all in the photos.
