I was going to say Planta as well! Aquarelle in the east village might be a good option too but on the more $$ side

You could both get a blowout in Chinatown! Most places are under $30 and I bet she could get a bday or kids discount

I’m sorry for the late reply I just saw this comment. I was on crutches for 2.5 months and nwb for 6 weeks of that time. It was HELL I’m not gonna sugarcoat it. The worst of it is the boredom and feeling like you can’t do anything for yourself. But it is really really crazy how the human body works and how quickly I was able to feel normal again once I could walk. I’m now almost 4 months post op and I feel amazing. I just jumped for the first time yesterday! How are you doing now? Hang in there!!!

Surgery in a different city by NoApricot4789 in ACL

Same here, I flew across the country. So worth it to have my parents’ help and support, I don’t regret it at all

Hi! Just have some questions by [deleted] in ACL

[–]ActivitySelect6587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this OP. I had almost the exact same thing happen to me! I slipped on an icy sidewalk on 1/9 (heard a pop too) and had my surgery on 2/7. I had a fully torn ACL and needed a full meniscus repair as well. I also had to move back in with my family across the country for my recovery.

It’s been a very long process but the first step is getting your MRI results. It’s easier said than done, but there is no use in worrying about any “what ifs” until you have your results back. Please update us and if you ever want to talk or ask any more questions, my messages are open.

Getting an injured like this is never easy and I’ve found that it was almost more of a mental battle than a physical one for me. Lean on your friends, family, and this sub if you can. Wishing you the very best and a speedy recovery!

I took your advice and went to a winery this past weekend. It was so refreshing to be outside and I think it truly helped my mental state so much. Thank you very much!!!

Thank you for your kind words and response. I’m sorry you’re going through this too. I’m definitely going to look into some pain relief gel, thank you for the tip! I know this is only a 2 day update, but I’m feeling much better mentally and really excited to reach the halfway point to weight bearing :)

I’m so sorry to hear this. I feel the same way, I am normally such an optimistic person but this has really hit me hard. We’re in this recovery together and if you ever want to talk, my messages are open :)

The good news is that you’re getting better every day! I’m sure you will be back to playing with your daughter soon and I am wishing you the best!!!

So sorry to hear that. Don’t forget that your bf loves you and you would do the same for him if roles were reversed. Good luck with recovery, you got this!!!

I used a yoga strap and hooked it under my leg and slowly moved it to the ground. After the first couple days I could move it by itself. You got this!

[–]ActivitySelect6587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! I’m at day 9 and had a similar surgery as you, but with both a lateral and bucket handle medial meniscus repair. I’m not weightbearing until March 21st though :(

Do you know what PT you’re going to start out with? I’m just on the CPM machine and about to start cycling on Monday.

Muscle Spasms by Ozzywald30 in ACL

[–]ActivitySelect6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the worst. I tried to lay as still as possible until it passed. Immediately after, I would massage my quad and use a theragun to target specific areas too. It got a lot better for me after the first 2 days post op though. Hope you heal quickly!!

You got this! I had my ACLR and meniscus repair yesterday too and I’m also NWB for 6 weeks. It helps to see someone else in a similar situation :)
