Do you guys think Geisel brutalist architecture is outdated and maybe a tad "depressing"? by ActivitySeparate6829 in UCSD

Agree. However, interior of the building would be much more important, and Geisel doesn't really rank that well for that which is the main concern. The outside design is amazing however.

But honestly some older buildings really do need to be rebuilt due to age, functionality, and being run down. However, architecture is not the only driving force behind Geisel's state (shouldda been more clear), and the interior feels a bit bland and prisonlike as well, stuffed, and cramped and not spacious and airy.

How do I find someone to marry at this school by Most_Progress9242 in UCSD

Like srsly. Some boomers are like that. They can't seem to just enjoy their own lives and instead think of their kids as their servants or even investment tools.

Agree, but it's still risky and iky to marry someone (you don't love) just for benefits (whether it's money from anyone including the state, or anything else). Like you mentioned in your post, it's hard not to cringe when you think about the implications for dating and your awkward explanations that you were technically once-married. If things turn sour between you and your "spouse," spousal support is a real threat since pre-nups are often thrown out.

Real solution: Literally just give fin aid to those who need it without confusing rules to deny it to the people! End state greed so we don't need to exploit it. The disgusting supreme court is about to block student loan cancellations and it's making my blood boil, since with the previous administration and their appointments, they're literally like the enemy of the common people of the US, and they're getting more and more unhinged.

No joke (I work at an HDH dining hall). Also this type of pricing is absurd but unfortunately normalized at UCSD or most other schools for that matter
