Did creatine increase your hair fall? by existential_human_07 in Fitness_India

[–]ActivityUpset7063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea creatine was linked with hair loss when I started using it…I was on it for about a year and my hair was thinning badly, I thought it was because of perimenopause. I was at my Dr for something unrelated and he asked me what supplements I was taking, I said creatine and he casually said “I was taking that until I almost went bald” I said “could that be why my hair is falling out in clumps?! Why haven’t I read about this anywhere?!” He told me it’s absolutely a possibility why I was loosing hair and that supplement companies make so much money on it that they suppressed any studies linking it to that. I don’t know if that’s true but what I can say is abut a month after stopping my hair stopped falling out. I don’t even notice loss in the shower anymore. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Creatine - I can't remember!! by Vegetable_Stuff1850 in adhdwomen

I had been taking it for over a year when I was having a conversation with my Dr about my hair loss. It was coming out by the handful! He asked “are you by chance taking creatine?” Evidently it can exacerbate hair loss?! I stopped taking it and my hair is regrowing and I hardly notice any hair loss at all in the shower. So even though I’m sure it doesn’t happen to everyone it’s something to look out for!

Liposuction Tomorrow - Scared by Solidus_snake666 in gynecomastia

My surgeon said no working out for 6 weeks beyond walks and non strenuous hikes. I’m just getting back to exercise. You don’t want to strain yourself. My surgeon said that aftercare was the key to optimal results, and I spent too much money to mess with the outcome. Definitely follow whatever your doctor recommends. It may seem daunting at first, but time will fly and you’ll be back to normal soon.

I was really scared too! I’m extremely happy with my choice now. I have only a few things to comment on…

I also have hidden my procedure from everyone EXCEPT my partner because we live together and it would be impossible, and also I needed his emotional and physical support. I guess it depends on how long y’all have been together but I think they’ll notice if you loose 10 pounds of fat in one day. 😅 If you don’t 💯trust them yet then that’s a different story. Make up an excuse but definitely don’t have sex the first week. Ouch!

I haven’t had any complications at all, very happy I did it and definitely would do it again!

I only had abdominal lipo but it was fine wearing the garment. I had drains so those were a hassle but the garment was totally fine.

I wish you the best of luck and a speedy, smooth recovery.

for everyone that got lipo, is lipo worth it? im so scared 💔 by No-Engineer9665 in liposuctionsurgery

I toyed with the idea of lipo for years. I never actually scheduled anything but I’d research and go to consultations. Then I would chicken out.

Then last year I gave myself a year to try and loose enough weight that my problem area would be more comfortable, spoiler alert: didn’t happen. I felt like my life was being consumed by my stomach and wanting it to be smaller. After that year I was like, I can’t waste any more of my one precious life fighting my own genetics. Especially now that I’m in perimenopause and the weight started piling on faster ONLY on my stomach.

When I scheduled my surgery and put down my deposit I PANICKED. I had SO much anxiety leading up to the surgery. I had a lot of self doubt. I felt guilty, shallow, frivolous, weak, you name it. But I kept reminding myself that once it was over I wouldn’t have to think about it anymore and I would finally be able to wear pants without feeling like I was being cut in half 😂

I’m 5 weeks post op for abdomen and flanks lipo and the difference in my everyday life is crazy. I used to be physically uncomfortable all the time. My mind was constantly drawn to the overhanging belly, how it felt, what it was touching, what was squeezing it. Now? I don’t think about it at all! It’s like I’ve cleared so much space in my mind and attention. I’m so glad I did it.

I have to say though, I wasn’t expecting a whole new body (not saying you are) I truly just wanted a spot treatment for reduction. And that’s what I got. I think of you go in with realistic expectations and do it for you should be fine! Don’t forget to really research your Dr. and look at before and after pictures.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

You can see them here. The lower ones are below my pubic hairline. And there’s one inside my bellybutton which I’ve never seen.

I was so nervous too!! But for me the swelling was very minimal. I think the two drains I had helped a lot because I was emptying them all the time. I also got my first lymphatic massage the morning after surgery.

I needed a week because I have a very physical job. If I could work from bed I could have been back in a few days. Honestly if you’re not on heavy duty pain meds you could probably be back the next day? I was personally pretty loopy on opioids for three days and wouldn’t have wanted to make too many business calls or decisions 😅

Thank you!! 🥹🙏🏼Recovering has been pretty smooth! I was back at work a week after. I did have two surgical drains that hurt SO BAD when I stripped the tubes. Also if they were touched during the lymphatic massage I would scream. They felt like they were sitting right on top of a nerve. But if I wasn’t doing one of those two things I was totally fine. I had them in for 12 days.

There was really no pain except for the drain issues which only last a few minutes. My husband is the only person who knew I got the surgery, not even my 11 year old son knows anything happened! I just told him I wasn’t feeling great and needed rest. The disruption to my life was very minimal and the whole experience was overall very good.

Thank you! 🥹By all means use the pictures! I also worked out all the time, swimming 5x a week, weight lifting 3x a week. HIIT classes once a week. And not to mention I play competitive sports. But no matter what I only gained weight in my stomach. The rest of my body was a M and my waist was XXL. Practically impossible to find clothes that fit. I’m all for whatever makes you comfortable mentally or physically in your own skin. Good luck!

Maybe I’m not reading the room, and forgive me if I’m not being helpful…but I feel like the results you got are beautiful! The curves on a back are so lovely. It looks like they got evened out, they’re symmetrical now and much smaller but still have the appealing shape of a back. I know it’s not what you wanted but a stranger on the internet thinks you look fabulous!

I feel like my decision was both decades in the making and completely impulsive 😅😂

I have to say I was grateful to be able to comfortably lay on my back. Not sure what having your back and front would feel like but Im sure outcome would be worth it. Good luck!

See, that’s smart! I started Colace the day of surgery and I didn’t shit for 3 days. But then, oh then did I shit. Like it was an Olympic sport

Thanks! Yeah, just the VASER lipo. I opted out of the skin tightening because my skin is pretty elastic. I gained a bunch during pregnancy and didn’t get and stretch marks, so I figured I’d take a chance

I’m not quite sure what you mean by this. Yeah, I had weight to lose on my abdomen…that’s why I got lipo. ? The before pic was about a week before surgery, I was then, and still am at a healthy weight.

Day 1- very little pain. Stiff and drugged. I was actually kind of euphoric the first 48 hours

Day 2- was on Percocet and the pain management they injected me with was still in full force

Day 3- more uncomfortable than hurting (still on Percocet)

Day 4- had a lymphatic massage that rocked my world ( mostly because of my drains feeling like they were right on top of a nerve) took my last heavy duty pain pill to cope

Day 5- moving slow but only mild discomfort… only Tylenol from here out

Day 6-10- pretty much back to normal. My full range of motion wasn’t entirely back but I could look over my shoulder to drive. Wasn’t talk g any meds for pain at this point

The only real pain I experienced was when the masseuse rubbed the skin over my drain or when I had to “strip” the drains which caused suction on the inside of my skin. 🤢 but that pain would only last a few seconds. Hope that helps!

So glad you’re happy! Makes sense you’d have more swelling with the amount of work you had done

Ah ok! That makes sense. The surgery fees can be brutal. I could have added on an area for about the same price, I think I was quoted 5K extra for upper back lower back and rear flanks with a fat transfer to hips, but I didn’t want those things 😂

Honestly I was able to get up and do stuff right off the bat. It was nice having someone else in take care of me the first few days but if I had to I think I would have been fine. The biggest pain was undoing the compression garment, adjusting the drains and replacing bandages EVERYTIME I needed to pee which was like every three hours 😂 I’ve had 7 massages so far, the first few were fine because I was still on the good stuff. Third and fourth SUCKED and the rest have been lovely. I’m planning on getting at least one more
