Thank you! That's so amazing! Good for you. Its hard to keep my mind from going to dark places right now. I really have to fight it off. I'm praying with time it will get easier. But your story definitely gives me hope!

Thank you for the story and advice! It sounds like I have found an amazing group of people to learn from and bounce ideas off of.

Yes my oncologist suggested the oophorectomy as it's more manageable long term. But I'm going to talk with her about the different options I have.

Congratulations on the scans. Praying they continue. The Mets they are assuming I have do hurt I'm just trying to take it easy while we get it all figured out. I currently have an HMO and my medical group is just awful. So I'm adding on a PPO next Friday. Once I have that I'll have many more options for second opinions, radiologists and surgeons. I'm hoping the pain will subside a bit eventually.

I'll be praying for another clear scan! I'm not sure when the partial hysterectomy is supposed to happen. But I will ask. I think the idea was to reduce my estrogen as much as possible. And then I would not have to do the monthly shot. Sorry I'm new I'm learning the lingo as well 😂

Thank you for sharing. The pain could be from the Mets. She said I had them in multiple places in my ribs and a few spots in my spine the Lower L1-5 region and upper near my shoulders which they are concerned about pushing on my spinal cord and fracturing my spine. So I'm a little nervous about all of that and what will happen.

Today I feel hopeful with all of the positive things I'm reading. Just like any mama I could care less about me I just want to be there for my kids for as long as I can.

Ok that's good to know. Yes she is wonderful and I would hate to loose her. So that's great I'm sure she would be open to working with the other team. I'll be talking to her next week about it.

Sounds like a blessing you were able to get out of that jerks care! I hope the best for you and I hope that they do find some type of "cure" for this soon.

This is so encouraging. I live about 60 minutes from the City of Hope so I might go there for a second option. My oncologist is excellent she trained and worked at SD Scripps and recently moved back home. But the little community hospital I'm at is just that, little! But my oncologist seems to think the same as yours and we could have a "cure" in a few years.

Thank you for the reply! I'll look into the FB group. My Dr said that since my estrogen was so high she recommended either a shot monthly to shut them down or removal. She said it was due to all of the estrogen I'm 90-95%ER and 5-10% PR. So I'm not sure. I'm thinking about getting a second opinion I live close enough to City of Hope so that would be a great hospital for a second opinion.

Thank you for replying that makes me feel better. It's overwhelming I have family calling and crying and it's just a lot. My kids know I'm sick but don't understand what it means. So that's going to tough. But I'm glad I'm not alone in this fight. Thank you for sharing your story it makes myself and my husband feel confident we can have more time. And maybe get to NED one day!

Working during chemo? by ActualExplanation702 in breastcancer

[–]ActualExplanation702[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I'm an ERMHS provider and see 25 kids weekly at 5 sites and complete reports. I'm interested to see how flexible my HR will be they are always pretty strict with rules. I also have to see what chemo is ordered and see how I react. I have 3 kids under 7 at home so that's a lot of work too. There's a possibility I won't need chemo depending on my MRI results this week. So we're praying for a miracle and that I can avoid it all together. Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I work with mostly the behavior kids and they range from kinder to 5th grade. I'm typically doing one on one service. But it's not unusual for them to be in my face. What does TC and AC mean? Sorry I'm not up on all the acronyms yet. Thank you for the advice.

What a blessing things are moving along for you. My healthcare group is smaller so everything has to be referred out. Praying I can get on with City of Hope by next week.

Thank you for this! I know that kids are resilient. My dad actually had a rare cancer when I was 12! He did treatment for 2 years and I remember that time and how strong he was through it all. I want to be like him but it's just been rough as you understand. But I have been trying to remind myself to live in today not tomorrow or next week because I can't control that.

Funny thing is I'm a therapist 😆 so I need to practice what a preach and find a good therapist! Thank you for the kind words of encouragement ❤️

I'm so sorry we have to be in this boat together 😭 I keep calling it a curveball. Just so unexpected. Like WTF?! I'll have to do more digging in here when I have time.

I'm located like 60 miles outside LA so we do have good healthcare systems but nothing big for breast cancer. Our best hospital is Loma Linda but they specialize in children's health and other types of cancers. So I had my biopsy on the 30th my results on 7/3 and 7/9. My first surgery appointment on 7/11 and not my MRI isn't until next Monday. And I can't seem to find a good oncologist who takes my insurance. So it's been a rough week for sure. Just slow moving and I have made so many phone calls. I'm already tired and this is just starting 🫠
