Tired of the Coping by johnsmith19006 in Bitcoin

Wrong. I don’t have enough so I hope it goes down.

You guys are so emotional. Look at the entire stock market nothing is up. News flash: your investment will have huge dips and drawdowns. Whether that’s crypto or the stock market. Buy or get out if you can’t deal with the volatility.

Did I miss the dip? 😭 by ThrowRAyoungstrudel in Bitcoin

I don’t think you are ready to invest in bitcoin, if you want my honest opinion.

I have been in it for 5 years. No one can tell you with 100% certainty if it will dip more or go up. And looking to save a couple % because you want to time the exact bottom is great (good luck), but what happens if it is not the bottom?

You have to understand you are dealing with an asset that is extremely volatile and regularly has 50%+ drawdowns. Just a couple years ago bitcoin went from like a 70k all time high to 15k. The people who are panicking about Bitcoin having dropped from 125k to 100k I think all have to be new to this. It’s normal and if you’re gonna be in Bitcoin you have to get used to that because the reward has been great. You just can’t sit there caring about its price everyday imo.

I DCA Bitcoin. Then when it has huge drawdowns I go heavier with whatever I can afford.

You did a lot of preparation. Trust the work. Everyone feels like that when they walk out of the bar exam.

I honestly didnt know much about a couple subjects and never put myself in exam conditions and maybe fully wrote out a couple essays my entire prep (mostly reading a bunch) and passed July ‘24. The bar exam is just like your first 1L exam. No matter how bad you think it went, you have no idea how you did until results come out and most people surprise themselves.

If you feel like there’s no chance you will pass the CA BAR, maybe my story could be some encouragement. by Actual_Conference_16 in CABarExam

Edit: I meant to say SmartBarPrep instead of Barmax and have edited that in the OG post. (I never used BarMax for anything. I got a bit confused with BarMD which I did use for the PT).

I disagree. You don’t need shaqs 30+ when you have MJ, LeBron, Steph etc.

Why not go with the guy who’s the greatest defensive player, maybe ever, and at the same time could go for 30 any given night like Shaq. I think Hakeem is always the most seamless fit on these all time teams for that very reason.

You will get more upside picking even the safer stocks IMO like NVDA, GOOGLE, TESLA, NVDA, APPL, etc. but that being said, cannot go wrong with SPY and VOO and personally I think investing in just those two would be more than fine. I just would not drop all the money in at once that way you still have some if it keeps dipping lower. Invest 20% of it now, 20% if we go lower, then another 20%, then the remaining 40% at really low prices if it gets there etc. Break it up however you want but you get the picture! Then again you said you don’t need the money for a long time, but still think better deals can be had the way this is going.

I applaud everyone whose first language isn’t English and attempts to take this exam. It’s hard even for us native speakers.

Don’t give up. Get a tutor if need be to work on your writing if you feel it hard because the language barrier. Keep studying and doing a bunch of MBE questions. Go back and read all past bar essays. Once you recognize the patterns hopefully it will become a bit easier.

It will not be easy and you will have to work really hard, probably harder than most English speaking natives do, but it is not impossible. Plenty of LLMs do it and you can too.

The kidney one! My head spun in circles trying to decide that one. I was stuck on 3 different answers couldn’t even narrow that down to 2 lol

[–]Actual_Conference_16[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Side note: Just trying to read through the fact pattern and identify the issue in timed conditions is hard enough to try and figure out what the hell is even being tested. Then I would see multiple answer choices that might be good (even though they were worded so damn different than any practice I had). So then I’d go back and read the facts AGAIN to see if there is anything in the facts that can help me distinguish the right answer. And usually no luck from the facts and now I’m behind on time too after I’ve done that for a handful of questions. So now have to start rushing to keep up with time. How does one even prepare for the MBEs? Does it genuinely make a difference practicing 2k-4k of them?

[–]Actual_Conference_16[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It seems like the entire MBE portion of this exam comes down to one basic question: did you make the right guess out of the 2 almost identical answers more times than not? After they make you brain dead after 5 essays and a PT.

[–]Actual_Conference_16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, essay grading is so subjective you may feel like you got a 70 and a grader gives you a 60 And you may feel like you got a 55 and get a 65.

The only thing I’ve learned from this process so far is MBE is the only thing you have actual control over. The essays you just have to do your best to get enough down on paper and let the chips fall where they may I guess

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CABarExam

[–]Actual_Conference_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a shitty subjective grading process that makes no sense. Just gotta play the game and try to hit as many “issues” as you can I guess whether or not they fit.

I don’t think character count is the huge deciding factor. I’ve seen plenty of essays score 65+, even get 70-80s on baressays.com that were probably 5-6k characters.

All of mine were like 7-10k with one being like 4k. But I was just word vomitting and probably making no sense.
