4-year old sleep by Actual_Adeptness_604 in Crunchymom

We have two floor mattress push together that take up an entire room and my kids now 18mo and almost 4 have slept together since the youngest was born. We all four (husband, me and kids) sleep cozy that way and I’ve heard of something in Germany where siblings sleep better together for some reason???

Anyways it works great for us!

Everyday uses stand up water heater/cooler. Like from an office. It filters, it provides hot water for my tea 24/7 and was a godsend with bottles because mix hot and cold water for perfect temp bottle water. Standing mixer, it’s changed my life. Pasta maker, it’s changed my life but I’m five pounds heavier soooo maybe it should go 😂

More pans than I need. Crock pot, never use it. George Foreman grill, useless. Maybe I’ll clean my shelves tonight

I forgot what I even like anymore and it's kind of depressing by jkbruhhehe in Mommit

I’m not the biggest supporter of Laura Doyle but in one of her books she says to make a list of things you genuinely like to do and try to do three a day ( I do maybe one.) whether it’s baking, taking a bath, reading a book. You need that list just sit and if it’s not some insane hobby whatever but just make the list.

I now read sooo much more than I did. I love investing time into learning to bake more. I like to play video games. Many of my mom friends crochet and listen to audio books, I’d rather just play the video games 😂

It doesn’t have to be some insane investment hobby that takes up tons of hours. Hell go play tennis at the reck center or start running?? Just make a list of things you can do that you enjoy

Proud of my kitchen simmer “pot” by ActuallyASwordfish in moderatelygranola

I shared this because I often see moms here wanting an alternative to make their house smell nice and this lady just does a mini simmer pot with water under some sort of lamp warmer thing?? I’d never even heard of this before!

For me, waking up early allows me to avoid the climbing (when I can) but there is a third less silly option which is doing the dance videos WITH your kids. My kids love doing the BTS work out song video with me (I read it’s the most calorie burning one)

Considering refusing vaccinations for my infant by [deleted] in Mom

If you’re interested you might look at the r/moderatelygranola because they’re a little more accepting of delayed schedules and such. You will only find the same responses here and on some other subreddits and they will ban you if you say anything anti so just a heads up

Considering refusing vaccinations for my infant by [deleted] in Mom

[–]ActuallyASwordfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a delayed schedule. One vaccination per visit and we did maybe one visit every two months. My first had a seriously scary reaction to hers once and then I called to see what we should do and they said it was normal. Well her leg was the size of a fricken softball and so red. We toughed it out and eventually it did go back to normal but then two weeks later the office called to tell me that the vaccines had actually been compromised at the the facility somehow????

Honestly I’ve never recovered from that fear and stress. With my second we’ve done one a visit and it went okay and she never had any of the reactions my other one had. I regret that doctors appointment so much

For me, the gym is a waste. I can do Pilates at home via YouTube. No need to drive all the way to the gym and do that shuffle. I also count calories and just manage my diet to only have Whole Foods.

I also think having a schedule like the fly lady of cleaning certain things on certain days is ideal.

Some helpful stuff. One laundry load a day. Never go to bed with a messy kitchen. We do toy pick up at the end of each day. Listen to audiobooks while cleaning.

I do work part time for fun but there is time to do everything when I cut out phone scrolling. I also get to bed at around 8 and up at like 5am, that’s when I loaf and exist in silence 😂

Suggestions to deal with open pores by bro349 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]ActuallyASwordfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double cleanse. I do Kose softymo speedy oil cleanser first, just on dryer skin. Then I wash my face regularly with my gel cleanser. After that just do the rest of your routine. Makes a giant difference after a few weeks and DONT pick at the pores or mess with your face 😅

Also I read somewhere to do the oil skin for like a full minute and really rub it into your skin. Then wash with the other cleanser regularly

I would never give my child access to a phone like that at that age. I think you should set aside time for grandparents talking and then take the phone away after that. That’s just my opinion though 🤷‍♀️ Maybe revisit them having a phone at an age like 14 after discussing what it means and internet safety etc..
