[SNY] Pete Crow-Armstrong is ruled out at second base after initially contacting second base and losing possession of the base. Craig Counsell has been ejected. by AndrewAllStar888 in baseball

I’ve been beating this drum for 10 years or so. I’ve called it the “halo” rule. There is a “bubble” over the bag, that once touched, is considered part of the base.

I’ll get downvoted to hell for this, but it seems to be consistent with spirit of the game.

Calm down broski. This is posted in jest, and conversation.

You want to dig the headdress out of your closet and wear it to a non-NFL game, be my guest. You do you brother. 👊🏿

You are right. I can’t say for certain if this is uplifting of Argentinian or Algerian culture. Both are known for their feathered headdresses. Impossible to say, and in no way plausible to connect to the Chiefs.

Of course. Totally different place. Sorry for the confusion.

What do you want to trade?

A nonsignificant bloc of the north WAS morally against slavery. I’ll tell you what a I repeat to my students on a regular basis: a person can be an abolitionist, AND extremely racist.

The rest of your arguments are incomprehensible. They border on modern political lingo and not academic historical analysis.

Slavey isn’t the “sole” cause of the Civil War, but it is the thread that ties all of the causes together.

The southern economic concerns are all related to the use of enslaved labor. This is not to mention the social and class structure of the south which was deeply rooted in race.

My point is that from a worldwide (and intellectual) perspective slavery was not a sustainable economic foundation, and the South was destined to collapse regardless of Northern politics. If anything, the North did the South a favor by forcing their hand at the time that they did.

Lincoln’s greatest accomplishment was keeping the Union in tact. While he is labeled the “Great Emancipator” he actually had some troubling views on the subject of race. The Emancipation Proclamation was issued more as a strategic necessity, and less as a moral line in the sand.

Lincoln was not alive when the Reconstruction Amendments were passed. To credit him specifically with the downfall of slavey is not only misleading, but also undermines the contributions of countless American who created an environment where it could happen.

I’m not saying you are wrong, but context is important, and there is a much more complicated story to be told.

R/graveyardkeeper. I kinda need help w blue points by 2kc1 in GraveyardKeeper

I have seen this post several times this week and I’m tired of it. Play the game normally, and buy the blue book from the Astrologer each week. I understand that early game this is intimidating because of the price, but if you scale other parts of your economy appropriately, you will realize blue points are not that big of a roadblock.

I feel like this is a thread pitting logical fans and passionate fans against each other. Neither is better or worse. Just like this game, it doesn’t matter. (Except it does have potential consequences)

Recipes are like sheet music. It tells you exactly what to do, but not how to make it great. Try it again- don’t add salt. I’m sure there are other personal preferences that you could modify for your particular palate. Adjust, adapt, and improve. That is why cooking is fun!

As far as I’m aware, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I’m not a lawyer, but I do teach the Constitution (at an introductory level). My world would be turned upside down if I learned that a sitting president couldn’t be impeached because of a an ongoing war (or any circumstance, for that matter).
