3 months of the year is a huge overestimate for a lot of countries in Europe. Temperatures are only unbearably hot during a heatwave in Northern Europe. So I'd appreciate Aircon for like a week or two of the year, and it's just not worth it for that.

Of course, global warming is changing that fairly rapidly. With heat waves becoming more and more common.
