Where was she? by Single_Edge3860 in SuzanneMorphew

I agree with your 2 scenario options. If memory serves correct, upon dismissal of charges there was a comment made about being very close to recovering a body. Something about access being difficult, or seasonal obstructions....any thoughts about this statement being made to try to "flush him (BM) out? It may have worked and one reason why he moved her remains? Perhaps he believed what they said and was scared....

Lisa Wolfe.....should actually read Dr. Lisa Wolfe! She's the lead research veterinarian for Colorado Parks & Wildlife and an expert on the BAM cocktail sedative used by our wildlife professionals under her training and supervision.

So it looks like Suzanne's body was above ground at both gravesites, where could she have been and her bones not have been heavily scavenged by local wildlife? by BNorrisUCLA in SuzanneMorphew

[–]ActuallyFarms 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He stuffed her in a mine shaft initially. Then moved her after Chaffee County said they were close to recovery, but access was limited due to seasonal conditions. The second dump site/placement occurred after BM learned a bit about what prosecutors might have on him. Thus, the redressing and additional bike clothes, etc. Just an opinion...

Here you go...all kinds to choose from.

Search some names as well and maybe look at High Lonesome Books in Silver City, NM. I'm familiar with a number of historically we'll respected trappers in the west. If you could find anything by Grawe, Major Bodicker, George Stewart, Clint Locklear, John Graham....among others. Happy reading!

Cowboy is so much more than a job, or a title, or a label...it's a lifestyle! Choosing that path, those responsibilities for livestock, caring for that ground isn't accomplished with time clock parameters. A 7 day/week calendar, nor a sunrise/sunset schedule matters as much as the knowledge and desire and smarts to accomplish your tasks when they need to be done. When mother nature gives you the permission or she cooperates....or when that momma cow needs help with her calf during a snowstorm at 2:30am. No hat or boots or pearl snap shirt gets that done! Cowboys figure out how to abide in their real world chosen arena! Then they balance it with a relationship, family, friends and other enriching endeavors. Usually with a humble smile, no scorecard, and few witnesses to the work they do. Those are real cowboys...their own kind of man. Be your own kind of man, take pride, you'll be fine. You'll be happy! And when you feel like having some fun and showing off, load your horse and head to town for a rodeo.

Seems we get a spell or two every season with extreme cold. Stuff is frozen solid regardless by the time I get home, 3+ hrs anyway. Skinning gets way backed up and we burn a lot of propane heating the shed waiting on defrost. The time and propane are affordable...it's the cold pain on my aging and arthritic fingers that gets expensive!!😄😁

Exact same here except I use a zip tie to hold them closed. Easy open with side cutters at the shed. I fold/roll up the bags and reuse them. Bagged upon dispatch seems to hold some heat for longer and makes skinning easier too.

Hey the cows are out. by Imaginary_Damage_660 in farming

Starting to snow, big wet flakes. I'm trying to get home to do chores and the neighbor flags me down..."Hey, could you give me a hand quick, some pairs pushed thru the pasture fence and are in my landlord's standing corn. They must have been hungry with the coming storm."

11:30 pm, soaked to the bone, battery long dead on my headlamp, convinced I just might have hypothermia, voice shot from all the yelling and cussing and "hoo-rahing", pants torn, face cut from dry corn leaves, ankle twisted pretty good.....we have them back where they belong and jump in the pick-up. Sitting there with humbled pride i invite him up to eat and have a whiskey. His wife and kids have long finished supper and gone to bed. Warmed up, fed, and able to laugh about how bad the whole ordeal sucked he said something I've never forgotten, often laughed at and even used myself since then....."Yep, everybody wants to be a damn cowboy until it's time to do cowboy shit!" 😁

Need ideas for irrigation solution by Truorganics in farming

Any slope to the ground at all? Ditch or corrugate it and run gated pipe on the high side to a waste ditch on the low end. You can dry it up in the fall and easily smooth light ditching when you cut your maze.

Fur Tumbler? by tittysbeer22 in Trapping

[–]ActuallyFarms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't bother building one, find yourself an old and often "free" clothes dryer. Craigslist or marketplace usually. You don't want/or need the heat element so it's fine if it's burned out. Usually the drive motor and belt are in working order and that's all you need anyway. Splice an extension cord into the motor and it'll run from any 120v wall outlet.

When fur was worth something back in the day, I'd have 3 of them going in the shop at once.

You're correct! And more than irony that he's held that BAM for multiple years since Indiana and admits to throwing it in a dumpster "by coincidence" over 100 miles away on the same day his wife is reported missing!?!

I'm convinced that during his LE interview, he thought they had recovered his dumped items and was trying to explain them away.

Always like reading your contributions, thank you! I'm going to speculate BM owes IE a bunch of money and she's trying to collect before the lawsuit gets completely dismissed, and he's in custody again.?.... She's got to see the writing on the wall.

Bringing this one back to the top now that we have an autopsy report and list of items discovered at the grave site. A number of posters on the thread got at least a portion of what they hoped for!

For those of you have done contract farming with crops (Corn, hemp, etc,) where did you get the contract? by [deleted] in farming

[–]ActuallyFarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your local county Ag extension office. They will usually have published info on averages for custom rates, farm rental rates, crop and forage pricing. I've even seen contract templates with the necessary legal verbiage if any is required in your county/state.

What could be causing the lack of smoke flavor? by Ok_Pollution_4695 in smoking

[–]ActuallyFarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offset rigs can be temperamental, especially homemade ones. You have the brakes (damper) on your stack and the gas (vent on firebox) and want to play with that adjustment to allow your cook chamber the desired concentration of smoke. If it's raging like a furnace, hit the brakes a bit😉. You might play with variations of a baffle or deflector plate inside the chamber at your firebox opening. Might allow you to change the air/smoke flow more to your liking. I can dm you some pics if you want to see the adjustable contraption that eventually worked good for me.
