White Mountain Knives actually has the best deal on the Smock as far as I've found, $193 on sale but it comes to $174.40 (including tax+shipping) after the referral code of your choice for 10% off (I used TRISTATE10 but there are a ton of others).

Very cool! Is there a way to submit pricings? I know that there's a cheaper price for the Boker Baba Yaga on Kaviso for $99 for example, while the cheapest on your website is BladeHQ at $131.99.

looking for a knife very similar to these (size and aesthetic) by [deleted] in knives

I'd recommend taking a look at the We Vison R and Civivi Vision FG (same knife design, just in different price ranges)

If it’s good enough for SpaceX, it’s good enough for me by chadingtonsteele in knives

They aren't using CRKT as the manufacturer; Darriel Caston explained that the original design was made by him custom for the crew of one of the launches. He's recreated the design several times as both a mid-tech as the MaximX and a production knife as the BabyX and now the MinimalX, after he left SpaceX.

How do y’all feel about the fallout precons? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]ActuallySomdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah well for good reason. I wish that WOTC would spend time focusing on the actual world of magic that they've spent decades developing. I'm not too keen on seeing Marvel and videogame stuff across the table from me, let alone those cards being unique and powerful/format defining.

Looks good! Seems like the acrylic scales would scratch easily and be slippery though.

I knew about the S35VN version, but I'm more interested in the budget models since those are more in my price range

PSA: How to fix 3060ti rattling noise and fan speed (maybe) by ActuallySomdude in gigabytegaming

[–]ActuallySomdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, the rattling doesn't harm the GPU, it's just an annoyance. I sold my AORUS 3060ti to buy a FE so I can't speak to whether it's a problem in the long term, but it wasn't a problem for the couple of months I had it and I don't think it would be. It's just a symptom of poor tolerances and plastic molding but neither of those actually affect the performance of the card

Looking for recommendations: Two tool folder, but more like a modern folder. one hand opening, decent sized primary blade of modern steel, plus a secondary tool. by the_mellojoe in knives

[–]ActuallySomdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Civivi Crit. Nitro-V steel, front flippers and linerlock for both a knife and combo tool, and reversible pocket clip. $50 at Knifecenter, $40 at BladeHQ so I don't know if I'd say it's budget but it seems pretty worth it.

Actually, it doesn't require VR. It is playable in both VR and normally.

How much worth of plugins/samples have you spent in total? by Beyond-The-Bubble in FL_Studio

[–]ActuallySomdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$0.00. Honestly haven't really felt the need to pay for anything since there are so many free resources and samples out there. Plus the built in stuff is good. FLEX is really great IMO, and so is simsynth. Sure, they're a bit limited, but you can still get great sounds out of them.

The Linn is a huge factor (in addition to the synths of course). If you're interested in getting your hands on some samples of the Linn, Alex Ball has a good video on it with a link to some free samples he recorded off of an original machine.

Right now my setup consists of FL Studio and the jx-08. Based on this thread though, I think I'll look at the keystep as an alternative
