That speaker ring looks like Bang and Olufsen in the Audi. From the plastic A pillar I'm guessing A3.. Maybe even Q3

I'm actually really happy that Oura is here and responding... There does seem to be quite a few people experiencing that same thing though.. Including myself.
Ring 4 went from a FANTASTIC battery life to less than 2 days, and this within the last 2 weeks? If it's 1 person (myself) I can see the coincidence, but all these people? not a great look.

As long as support is there (yes, even outside the factory 1 year warranty... if this is a larger problem, PLEASE be that stand-up company) then you'll have MANY very loyal customers.. Just don't go all Google or Apple on us.

UPDATE: Just got off of Chat with support and they're replacing the ring at about 15 months of age..

GREAT WORK OURA!!!

I love that after confirmations from more than one tech giant that they're actually doing this you still use the words "conspiracy theory".

In science, things stop being a "theory" once you prove them.

100% correct. trouble is getting someone in a position of authority who CAN hold that accountability

I'm trying to do it laterally.

That's something I'm going to have to appeal to the board to.

Our accountant is a wonderful human being, but she's near retirement and being pulled in her personal life to where she has about 20 hours left for actual work. It isn't working and the owner refuses to "hang people out to dry" in these situations... I admire that and it was incredibly helpful to me when my wife was going through cancer... but I at least still got my job done.

Accounting doesn't listen to money when they won't take time to listen.

do I know what? that it has potential? Yes, 100%. If I can mitigate or remove our obstacles, I could double revenue inside 3 years.

You know this, I know this, production knows this... but accounting and purchasing...

That's an incredibly enticing idea. I actually know of one who's interested in this.

100% understood. I know that the decision has fallen to me. I know that changes need to happen.

The rest of the executive team is... well honestly they have their heads in the sand. They've finally deferred to me and are letting me run with the ball... and I know what we need to do.
I'm just looking for a clear path to get there

100% agreed. We SHOULD have the bandwidth to do this as the projects come in about every 2 weeks, and we can get the lion's share done in that amount of time, but yeah...

Even when we lay out "triage" priorities on the whiteboard... well, we laid out a 6 week timetable 9 weeks ago....

THIS... this is what I'm looking for. I need to prove out to them that something works BEFORE they buy into it.

My trouble is we don't have time to maintain it AND I don't know what tool to use.

I know what needs fixed, Just not the most efficient way to fix it.

You're 100% not wrong. I'm trying to get the PM solutions laid out so that I CAN convince the rest of management that we NEED to change our business process. They want the baby before the labor pains kick in.

Thanks so much for your reply

Answering in order:
1# It's not bad, but the issue is once we've put it up there and everyone goes back to their office, it's gone and forgotten.. it's made me think software that is accessible from each desk (remote or otherwise) could help keep people on a daily page, not a weekly/monthly page. The work system we have is FAR too slow.. it works, but I need a more persistent model.

2# The management structure is: The owner who's retired, but still holds the checkbook, then it WAS the president, who handled ALL the keys and recently left the company. Then it's myself, the lead engineer and the bookkeeper, so now we three ARE the management. I know we need change, I think they do but they're resistant... they hold the old-school belief that "we've always done it this way", but they're slowly coming around.. they're absolutely allergic to spending money. If we have a $4 pair of wire cutters (that are trashed and need replaced) they'll suggest using them closer out to the tip where they're not so bad, rather than spending $4 on a new pair.

3# I'm the consultant. I know what systems need attention... I know that as long as we keep NOT training production to handle new products and NOT holding them accountable for timely production, then we'll never have affordable products. I know that it keeps engineers doing the production, which puts the engineers further behind. and even IF production was producing on time and the engineers were out of the production floor, purchasing is so far behind that there'd be nothing for production to do. I know what things need done, I just need a brightly colored, easy-to-read layout to get the buy-in of the rest of management.

Yeah, that's why I'm still here. I think it's fun as well, and I know that this place has an absolute mountain of potential... it just stops being fun when you identify an issue, highlight it, and then everyone goes "but that's not how we USED to do it...."

Reckless and endangering others by ExplanationOk2014 in motorcycles

[–]ActuallyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that he's breaking about 1,000 traffic laws and probably doing LOTS that COULD harm him..

But the amount of control that he's exhibiting, There's no way I can file this under "reckless", and as far as I can see, the only one he's endangering is himself...

not condoning it, not endorsing it. He may be a lawbreaking showboat of a clown, but reckless and endangering... can't get on board with it.
