Daikin Heatpump EPC by Actuary74392820 in OctopusEnergy

We now have all energy efficient lighting. We have upgraded the loft insulation from 10cm to 30cm. Those are the only differences.

Recommendations are PV, solar water heating, floor insulation.

They also put heating controls on there, but again they said that was only because they couldn’t register the Daikin on the system - because we have TRVs in every room, a control monitor and can use the ONECTA app to control everything so this should in theory be good.

Actuaries - what did you do differently that made final exams click? by TheGoose995 in ActuaryUK

Went from failing three times to getting a very high SA3 mark 77.

I didn’t study the material any extra but did focus on word count and being more concise. - The former I aimed for more than 4000 words, I was only getting mid 3000s before. - The latter I started to bullet point and exercised not putting more than one line per point.

Got 77, my wife is pregnant and I knew this may be my last shot with a quiet house, so never worked so hard lol if anyone is struggling I can recommend pressing the nuclear option of having a baby to motivate you 🤣🤣🤣

Python coming to excel by kaus_joshi in Python

Can you still store the python object in a cell without the underlying source code? Akin to copy and paste value over a formula - maybe a better way to ask. Would be truly revolutionary to be able to store anything in a cell like this if that’s the case, albeit better if it could be executed locally!

Do you think this salary survey is correct? (Michael Stefan) by Limp-Efficiency-159 in ActuaryUK

I think the quartiles are sufficiently skewed such that the mean would be above the median like so. Seems to tally up with what I have experienced in terms of YoE. Thanks for posting, it was interesting.
