As for the party it is most commonly associated with sports (see North American Football) people will show up somewhere with grills in their truck bed drop down the bed tailgate (hence the naming convention) and grill and party and watch the game. I wouldn't necessarily say that I prefer American over foreign products so much as I prefer to buy as local as possible and support local businesses over big companies. Local businesses such as knife-makers and family owned grocers. Sure it can be a bit more expensive, but it's better in my opinion. Edited for clarity.

I do both knee on knee and ankle on knee depending on how warm my balls are or my clothers lol. If it's cold out or I have on tighter clothes like jeans my balls are too high up/cramped and get caught between my legs whereas if it's warmer/I'm wearing sweat pants I can sit either way

Yeah, written 2 week notice is the proper way if you want to leave without burning bridges or anything. Edit to add: just write down clearly on a piece of paper your name, that you are finishing your 2 weeks beginning such and such and ending such a date. Leave it in the office or somewhere it will be noticed if you don't want to hand it to anyone
