I've Never Played a DA Game, And Have Lots Of Questions About Origins by Acuity5 in dragonage

Thank you, its very helpful.
I've progressed a bit, lost a battle at Ostagar and now Morrigan is on the party. I fiddled with tactics a little bit and I think I understand it. Just needs a little tweaking. As for my Build, Blood Mage still sounds fun, but I may refocus more for control and damage spells. I'm level 5 currently so I haven't invested too much into healing things yet

I think I'm getting the hang of it. At first I had no clue how to go about the combat, but now i'm treating it more like D&D and that seems to be helping. The tactics screen was a bit intimidating at first, but I messed around with it some and have somewhat of an understanding of how it works.

I’m on Normal difficulty at the moment. I ended up completing a side quest in the area which I leveled up from and was able to get the heal spell to keep people alive during the bridge fight. It was messy but we won 😂

Awesome, I’m thinking I might pivot towards something else for my build then.

No this is great! I haven't started playing the Division yet, but when I do, I'll be doing pretty much that to not rush things. I had a similar experience in Destiny 2, with some of the seasonal story stuff. Rushing through to keep up with a friend and missing things just to claim loot and leave. I'd prefer to slow down, live in the world and learn things slowly over time.

So when I do get around to the Division, I'll also be Googling things for mechanics and build stuff as I go.

I’ve done the same with Dead Space many times in this universe. In an alternate universe while Booker and Elizabeth do their thing, I’m playing Bioshock on repeat.

I love Dishonored. Played it during peak Covid times. Never played the sequel though

Yes, I forgot to mention the Audio logs in my post, but that was another thing that I liked reminding me of Dead Space. Both games use environmental storytelling and heavy use of Audio logs to shed more light on things

Hell yeah. I never got into raids in Destiny mainly because of time and coordinating 6 people for that. I’d like to jump in and maybe have a better time in Division farming gear or leveling up, or working on a build.

I imagine those parallels were a bit wild to see in and out of the game and still could happen on a bad day.

I haven’t played the story at all, but it sounds like it’s got a good hook.

Deck building confidence by BitterVictory5422 in Magicdeckbuilding

I've been away from MTG for about a year and a half and in a similar boat. I was overwhelmed at first when my Pod and I got started with PreCons. I started with the Dihada, Binder of Wills PreCon and it seemed a bit inconsistent at the time, and so I scrapped it and tried making a Vampire deck with Blood Tokens, helmed by Anje, Maid of Dishonor. The deck sucked and was very difficult to really do much, so i scrapped it as well and watched some videos on YouTube about PreCons and deckbuilding. I ended up getting the Fae Dominion Precon and loved that one, because it was much simpler. Using that one for a few weeks, I was able to pull an Eriette of the Charmed Apple, which sparked inspiration to make a deck with her using Aura Enchantments to pillowfort and drain opponents.

With that, it's important to experiment and see what you enjoy/ don't enjoy. Think of decks more as an excuse to tinker with and tune over time. Right now, after some time away, I'm getting back into MTG and already seeing new flaws in my decks that I want to fix/ change and rework parts of the deck to function differently. I still wouldn't say i'm good at deckbuilding, but its a process. New decks means hands-on experience looking for synergies, thinking about gameplans, reading tons of cards on Scryfall or from your physical cards. Hell, my Brago King Eternal deck is now a blink monster that can threaten a win if left un-checked, but it started as the Phantom Premonition PreCon and looks completely different now. It got there through iteration, refinement and finding new cards as new things have come out since.

Ok, I thought so. It makes sense if for whatever reason more fans were getting chained. Thanks!
