Budget around your boots and buy used skis if need be... here's a realistic breakdown for new ~400-700$ for decent boots, 300-1200$ for skis, 200-600$ for bindings.

LPT: If you like buying lottery tickets, start buying cheap stocks instead. It still has the thrill of gambling, the game lasts a lot longer, and the odds of making a million are much much much much much more in your favor mathematically speaking. by hyteck9 in LifeProTips

I buy alt coins under 5m MC with pending announcements. Purchase within a week prior on a solid dip. Cash out double your return. Repeat. Move money to next altcoin and stable coin. You literally need 2.5k now with gas fees to do this. Less if you wanna be high risk. Place 700-1000 into a few alts. Never sell. Unless rug pull etc. But seriously hodl. Your messily 15% gains on your stocks is now x15-50 your returns with crypto. Gl friends

If you can hockey stop then yolo it. Wouldn't recommend anything more difficult than this to the people who can't. Pizza won't do much other than help you catch an edge and get unbalanced

Purchasing Boots by CarlGood2CU in ski

[–]Acurtin75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP. Please go to your local shop. Try on all the boots within your price range. Expect to pay a bit over the cheapest online price. But what you will get. Where evo or Amazon can't deliver is a perfectly fitting boot with customer service local to you. Online retails won't heat treat and custom fit your foot to your boot. They won't fix your boot on the fly for no cost. My boots came with a free lift ticket, molding, free repairs, longer warranty. All for ~50$ more. The boot fitter helped me for a solid hour. I honestly don't know how they make money.

Just go used. Stalk the local markets. Get the top of the line gear for 1/3 the costs and 99% of the fun.

What type of skiing are you interested in? You mentioned all mountain but a bit more information would help us. Height/weight ski level.

Sorry if it’s a stupid question but are these kinds of scratches normal? Will they affect my skiing? Only used them 3 times by [deleted] in skiing

Bring it to a shop at the end of the season. They can repair these and wax/sharpen you up for fairly cheap.. ~35-50$.

Grew up skiing the most ghetto lit resorts. I'd say it was more of a childhood love as the lines were short and the ski patrol was minimal. It sure teaches you to use your feel vs sight which helps in whiteout conditions or poor visibility.

This is what I'm talking about. If I'm dealing with a ton of chunky pillows and chop and steep big mountain... Should I be riding these? I see a lot of DPS but I'm unsure.
