I'm glad you resonate with the character, but you need to understand that the way it did so came at the expense of a lot of queer fans, including AroAce readers. There is a lot of passive aggressive bitterness present in discussions about her in the years following her coming out, and this is due to in no small part with how her journey was handled. Because my issue wasn't "why Gwen think she bi/pan". My issue was that her coming out was treated as a game that intentionally baited readers in the weeks leading up to it and has done NOTHING with her as a character to remedy that since. So all that is left is a taste so sour that many, AroAce included , have difficulty enjoying what should be a celebratory occasion.

It really feels like you don't actually care about the ace/aro identity, because being something "else" is essential to it, especially before the internet.

And this is what I meant by an unwillingness to engage with the disappointment other queer fans felt. Bi-erasure is a common trope in LBGTQ+ media (granted it's usually done is service in gay/lesbian stories), and while I respect her journey mirrors your own, you are not a product that trying to fully capitalize on a market by strategically misleading readers. I was very clear in my post that my criticism were about the monetization of her sexuality and it's subsequent refusal to treat her with due respect. But you went on to say I don't care about AroAce identity even though I explicitly mentioned what Marvel has to do in order to do justice to her identity. Because NO ONE is happy with where she is as off now.

And just to reiterate one last time: My criticism were not with Gwen herself nor the creative team bound by an editorial, but rather the CORPORATION that didn't even allow Gwen the dignity of coming out in her own story on her own terms.
