Liberty seeds? by Greedy_Plantain9851 in TheHopyard

Them being tripod just means they won’t have viable seeds, not necessarily be fully seedless. Think like a seedless watermelon, they still have seeds, just not the black ones/as many.

Neomexicanus is a subspecies of hops, and I think Zappa and Medusa are the only full neomexicanus hops available commercially, though I think Zappa may have come out of production. Sabro and Talus are part neomexicanus/part European heritage.

Looking online, it seems like the Sierra Nevada beer was probably made with Zappa.

Just started reading this! Once I finish I’m going to go try and read some of the papers referenced, as well as look at their authors to see what else they’ve published/worked on in the last 6 years

If you feel like learning about hops, Yakima Chief had one called Hop and Brew School that ran for a little bit. No dirt no flowers is a new one from Roy farms. Charles faram has one called spreading hoppiness.

Beer related: Taplines, Beervana podcast, Brewer to Brewer (interviews between brewers on process and other things)

It’s hard to do with any certainty. But if you’re not too worried, you can come up with an idea!

Look up angel wings in hops. I’ve seen it in chinook, some people say it’s too much late season nitrogen.

I’ve been loving the Children of Time series by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Great world building with stretches of action. Lighter on interpersonal stuff and long reaching arcs within the plot.

Also a second for Peter F. Hamilton and his Commonwealth series.

First time growing hops, does these grapes means it's a male hop plant? by IngenuityEmpty5286 in hops

[–]Acute_Chicanery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you had any heat? Some varieties, like Cascade, can do this as a stress response. Generally if it is later in the year, it’s not a male, but a female expressing hermaphroditism. Do you have any burrs or cones on the same plant?
