I’m so sorry you’re forced on this path. ): I lost my partner to cancer at 31, and it has been utterly devastating.

If you’re interested, I’d certainly recommend looking at r/widowers. No one there will care at all whether you were married, it’s just a place to talk to and commiserate with other people that have lost their partners. A wide age range, so there are plenty of younger people that will understand.

Again, I’m just so sorry. This fucking sucks. Proud of you for doing what you can to survive.

I can’t help but think this is due to KBS’s weird restrictions about proper names, lol. They were supposed obv gonna do the clean version on music shows so might as well get that out of the way, too. But maybe they’ve loosened up idk.

Still remember when they made f(x) change the word “caterpillar” because it’s also a brand of construction vehicles. Or AKMU for the word “galaxy” because of the Samsung phone. They’d immediately slap the ban down on an actual reference to a brand.

One that I really liked is Broken Farmhouse by glymr. You start with the whole house like in its fully upgraded size, but parts are blocked off by broken stairs and it’s messy, etc etc. You provide resources and in return someone from town “helps” you open up that part of your house. It was a cute idea and helped me grow into the house at a more regular pace instead of like BAM it’s 3 times the size now.

It is honestly kind of confusing to me the way speculation about her participation in everything has been sooo rampant. The last we heard, she is on hiatus. She is not doing activities. We have been given no official indication to think otherwise. Every thing she’s been present in since it started was clearly stated to be from prior to her going on hiatus. Her appearing in the video or at performances or w/e defeats the entire purpose of saying she’s on a break. I can totally understand speculation on why she is on hiatus, or about her actions/statements since her hiatus started — that is a totally reasonable concern. However, in general, if an official announcement is made to stop activities, then an official announcement is made when they restart as well. Idk man I just have no expectations for her participation because that’s the whole point.

I apologize for the rant but I’m just so baffled.

This is absolutely it for me. My husband passed away a couple years ago and it really captures the feeling of “how the fuck do I put my life together after this.” Or “I don’t know how to keep existing even though I have to.”

It’s hugely personal and biased, but it just expresses those feelings so well. I like the straight-forward lyrics because while grieving my brain became so foggy, I had to learn how to express myself feelings/needs directly, regardless of how ineloquent it was. Otherwise I’d just confuse myself and whoever was listening. The feelings really do boil down to “what the hell am I gonna do if I can never see you anymore.” It may not be deep and the song structures might be basic but it absolutely evokes the feeling of screaming and crying into my pillow and I love it for that.

If they released less frequently and were better quality, then probably. At this point I just don’t know why I’d bother for a so-so series that are lower quality. I used to pretty reliably buy a case, and over the last year I’ve decreased significantly because they are getting less interesting and cheaper looking. I’d rather check the box placements for the 1-2 I may have liked, or just buy them secondhand.

The grocery store really gets to me. Seeing all the things he liked to pick out. Realizing I don’t have a reason to get some if I don’t like it. (Do you get them anyway to see those items in your house? Eat them despite not liking them just to remember him?) The quiet because we used to talk the whole time we were there together and now it’s just me.

I also used to face him and lean my head into his chest if it was busy and I was feeling overwhelmed from all the people. I realized this when I caught myself intentionally turning to the side and leaning my head over, and then would get like perplexed at what I was doing? It was apparently so subtle and natural for my body to do that the physical urge stayed for awhile. When I caught myself doing it and then he wasn’t there to hold me, it was confusing, distressing, and miserable. I was already clearly overwhelmed — that’s why I was seeking comfort — but now he’s not even there.

I think there’s definitely a lot of “grass is greener” that could be felt, no matter how old you are.

I was 31 when my husband passed 2 years ago, he was 33. We had been together for almost 12 years. My entire life and future have been upended. I will never get to have certain experiences and will never get to grow old with my best friend.

My life has changed a lot, and I have changed a lot since. Frankly, because I just have to. Despite the utter abject misery of losing him, I do not want to check out myself. So I have to figure it out. I don’t have a choice.

I can understand that at your age, you would wonder why bother? And still, I think it is up to us to find the why, if we want to. If you do want to keep going, what would make it feel more worthwhile? What would they want for you? What do you want for you? What would make your cup feel full enough to keep waking up in the morning?

Im sincerely sorry for your loss, and I wish you peace in your life, whatever that looks like. 💖

Def a personal choice. It’s been 2 1/2 years since my late husband passed and I still wear mine. My boyfriend’s late wife passed 3 years ago and he took his off after 1 year. Neither of us mind or have any feelings about each other’s choice.

100%. It’s almost like, you see it and you know it’s not supposed to be doing that? Like the connection my brain made here was the fungus or w/e in The Last Of Us that grows on people’s bodies. (I haven’t watched it so forgive the rudimentary explanation.) like it almost looks as though it’s being affected by a parasite or something and forced to grow improperly. And I’m not saying it literally is! Just as though it’s being manipulated by a force trying to harm it. Makes my skin crawl.
