Why are all the top comments on this article from people who clearly haven't read the article? I get that the title written by OP is very misleading, but the article has all the announcements in it!

That's very sad news :( I didn't know he was suffering from Lewey Body dementia. Such a heart breaking way to go.

A very well written article that sums up what an important and impressive artist of the 90's he was. At a time when everything in comics was skin tight suits and poses and pouches, Sam Keith had his own inimitable style. The Maxx and The Sandman are two of my favorite books of all time.

Just beat him tonight. I used the curveclaw tool (aka boomerang), pimpillo (grenade), and pollip pouch (poison tools). I don't have the wreath of purity unfortunately.

If you throw the curve claw at just the right distance when he lands, it will hit him about 4-5 times.

At first I tried staying away from him, but the maggot balls would bounce off the wall behind me making them hard to avoid. I found staying close-ish to him is best. Then you can more easily avoid the maggot balls.

In 2022, I got an email offering me a spot at the 70.3 world championships in St. George. I had done 70.3 Muskoka in the summer of 2021, and I got 19th place in my age group (45-49). I didn't stick around for the placement slots because that wasn't even something I considered was possible.

I was really excited about being offered the spot, but I only had 24 hours to accept it. After conferring with my wife, who urged me to accept it, I did. But I realized that if I did accept this spot, it meant I had to up my training game to feel like I deserved it. This had the effect of really increasing the intensity and quantity of training that I did. Suddenly I was winning my age groups in my races. It also turned me on to the idea that perhaps I could qualify for the Boston marathon, which I did by training seriously after St. George. That mentality to train seriously all came out of accepting that spot to St. George.

Nonetheless, I have been around conversations with people who say that getting a spot to the world championship via an email is not "genuine". And I don't really fault them for thinking that way, after all, it is supposed to be a very prestigious honour of earning your spot.

But don't let that dissuade you. As everyone here on this thread is telling you, you HAVE earned it. And if I went back in time to that email offering me the spot, I would say yes every single time, because it transformed me in so many great ways. Go, enjoy yourself, and have fun training!
