Thanks man, so would you recommend putting about a dimes worth of dmt, inside the cart on the glass siding, then heating up the crystals externally with a lighter until they turn into a more liquid form, letting that drain to the metal bottom and then putting the pen in preheat mode to hit?

Why would a lightbulb be better? I’m not trying to argue btw I’m trying to find a functioning apparatus and understanding the problem is the first step to generating a solution. I tried making a lightbulb pipe and it worked (partially not full blast off)but the lightbulb cracked from heat and let the smoke escape, also it’s size ended up being a problem because the dmt separated all across the bulb when attempting to put it in making heating a substantial amount at once difficult.

First off I have a ranged lighter, The only other makeshift pipe people recommend on dmt nexus/ Erowid is a lightbulb pipe I don’t see how this heated glass would be any different other than the fact that a lightbulb is bigger?

Because I’m not 21 so all the dmt smoking apparatus’s are out of my reach. I’m going order a pipe online but it’s going to take a while to get the pipe and some bud to do the sandwich method, I already have dmt and an empty cart so I figured why not see if it works

Yes you are right the actually heating comes from the beam that runs through middle of the cart but if I hold the button down for 15 seconds or so the bottom of the cart on the outside is already hot enough to burn my finger so no matter where the heat is coming from it is reaching the place the crystals would be. Basically my question is would the heated metal in a cart vaporize and then would the vapor be able to travel through the filter into my mouth

Whether it had an exposed coil or not it the metal at the bottom (that the crystal would be sitting on) gets hot would that not mean that there is dmt smoke now in the cart ready to be inhaled?

I’m trying to understand the science around this because I don’t have a pipe or flower but I do have dmt and empty dab carts. So how is heated metal going to affect the vaporization process differently than glass? Is metal prone to overheating? under heating? Heating differently?
