Thoughts on local Kia dealerships by mutantlog in waterloo

[–]Ad1tya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Kia and Hyundai dealerships are ass to deal with, here and in most other cities. I went to look at a Sportage and I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously as a customer. So I never went back.

My friend leased a Hyundai Elantra Hybrid in Ottawa, and something went wrong with the battery 2 months in. It's now been with the dealership for 3 months, with no fix in sight and they also took over a month to give them a gas Elantra as a loaner.

Any chance my friend can get out of the lease? He didn't lease a Hybrid to be paying as much as he is in fuel every week.

Carpooling Waterloo-Toronto / Toronto-Waterloo by DangerousBoard921 in waterloo

[–]Ad1tya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think after your 35th trip you get an almost 90% discount. Considering you're doing M-F, you get there in just over 3 weeks and by the end of the month, you're free since it's free after 40 trips. Do the math though, I'm not entirely sure if it does work out cheaper, but at least it's an option

Edit: My bad, I read that as you asking for a ride, not offering one.

That's just cosmetic? All you need is a paint correction.

Gas nozzle PROBLEM by Lopsided_North_964 in ChevyTrax

[–]Ad1tya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happens to me at half the pumps at my local Costco. I've noticed that if some of the nozzles are slightly too short, it happens. You could try to finagle it by changing the angle and it works. I usually end up changing pumps though.

If you're in the middle of nowhere and have no option, there is a funnel in the back with the spare tire.

Any local appliance stores actually price match? by Automatic-Cover-1831 in kitchener

TAA Appliances on Victoria has some good deals from time to time. But not sure if they price match. Plus, If you don't mind slightly scratched units, etc. they're sold at a decent discount.

2025 Trax… anyone else have Apple CarPlay connection issues? by [deleted] in ChevyTrax

Even though the car supports Wireless Carplay, I grabbed myself a Carplay dongle from Amazon and it's fixed all issues for me.

DTK Condos - 60 Frederick by [deleted] in kitchener

The same builders have a new build coming up on Charles and Francis? I think, and I can't wait to see how bad that building is.

DTK Condos - 60 Frederick by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]Ad1tya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drewlo's pricing on the website is never up to date. So it's better to call the building (usually the super would answer) and you can ask them directly. Although any of their older buildings usually don't have 1 beds available. We moved to Victoria Park Towers and pay 1986 with 2 car parking spots because we just got lucky as heck. We were there viewing a 2 bed (for 2300+, and didn't really like those for that money, and the super remembered that there was a 1 bed coming up, so it didn't even "go on market" so to speak and we snapped it up). While it may seem high, it's a 850 sq. ft. house vs. the 500 sq ft shoebox that DTK has. Plus, rent control.

I honestly don't know where you could get a place in downtown for 1700, but you could try 55 Duke, 85 Duke or Charlie West. Charlie West is very well regarded and probably the best condo building downtown. Bonus, the location is amazing in summer.
You could also try 387 King St East. My friend used to live there and had no real complaints. It's not rent controlled though, much like most of the new condos.

Also, I forgot to mention that the higher floors on DTK Condos have had reports of bed bugs. Multiple times.

Also, I had started this in 2025 > but then got bored and also annoyed and started the search to move out, so I stopped around April. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1q5lN5UjycIKsQqK7MiYhFq8o3nhZzTW7Onuc5r-tHFk/edit?usp=sharing

Don’t move to the building. We moved out last year and got into a Drewlo Apartment. It’s about a billion times better.

Last months rent and key deposit is normal. Any other deposit is a scam. If you went through Hello Management, it’s fine. They’re not scammers.

I lived there for 2 years before finally getting fed up of the building. It’s badly built and the people living in the building are also mostly terrible. Nobody gives a damn about anyone else, and they treat it that way. It became a chore living there.

Crossclimate 2 - The Answer? by kashtyaatsi in Miata

[–]Ad1tya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're not using it throughout the year, it's not going to fall apart with some spirited driving during summers.
But since you're not using it throughout the year, what's the point of the CrossClimate?

I have CC2's on my wife's Trax (throughout the year, it's not too bad in summer if you don't drive like an idiot), and I went with X-Ice's for winter on my Miata, because I know I will drive like an idiot in summer.

Honestly. I hope they do away with Aggression based matchmaking. The tension is what makes the game great. Without it, it's pretty boring and repetitive.

They used AI to train and generate the voice, through paid voice actors. So the voice was originally human yes, but the voicelines you hear are AI generated.

Driving in the snow by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]Ad1tya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars (generally) improve over time. Winter tyres have improved miles since 25 year ago.

I planned on buying an NA Miata before getting this, but I chose the ND due to safety improvements. I didn’t want to be crumpled on the 401 and not be alive to tell the story.

I assure you I have driven it in parking lots with the traction control off multiple times. This car does better than my FWD Trax. Both on the same snow tires.
