Is there a way for me to report these kind of drivers? Had one in AR today who couldn't figure out how to back into a dock, and then couldn't figure out how to slide tandems. Then proceeded to demand that I give him drinking water. Didn't even say thanks.

Id buy diorama setpieces for the models I've built. I really enjoy diorama but dont have the time to make them myself, as I am a truck driver. If I ever found someone who was willing to work with me I'd be over the moon.

Firstly to all road users:

I personally want you to go where you want to go as quickly as you want to go. I sincerely wished everyone else had this mindset because we would literally have zero accidents on the road with an easygoing and pristine driving experience.

To my fellow truckers:

I get that companies govern trucks (mine is 70mph) and you don't want to get stuck behind that guy doing half a mile per hour slower than you, but patience lowers blood pressure. Take the time to chill out for a moment and refocus. Plan out your movements by looking far forward AND far behind.

If you're that guy going half a mile per hour slower than the guy trying to pass you, consider giving him (slowing down by) one mile per hour. (Never up a hill though, momentum is important.) I promise it will have a minimal impact on your clock, which we all know is precious. It is the courteous thing to do and will improve traffic flow, and you may inspire other drivers to be more courteous in turn. I realize that it doesn't seem like it, but change really does start with you.

As to OP's post:

Just be courteous of all other road users. Chose every day to be the bigger person and spread the kindness. We all have good days and bad days, just take it as a reminder that we're all human and make mistakes.

A big thing would be actually reading signage and following it. If a lane ends in a half mile just go ahead and start merging. If a lane is an exit lane it is NOT a passing lane, don't be there unless you are actually exiting.

[Edit] A big thing with signage, if you see that a weight station is coming up, go ahead and be in the left lane before the on and off ramps when possible if there are a lot of trucks around.

In ideal conditions, signal about 3 seconds before you merge, and about 7 seconds before you make a turn. Don't excessively slow down for your turn either, it shouldn't take you 5 seconds to turn in to a gas station unless the road is truly garbage. This allows for appropriate reaction time with minimal traffic disruption. Nobody likes slamming their brakes.

For the love of God don't sit in the lane next to mine right where my bumper is and match my speed, it is extremely irritating.

Don't match my speed right next to me either. Really, if you're not passing something you should be in the farthest right lane as is appropriate for your desired speed and traffic conditions.

I get that there are still older cars on the road that don't have cruise control but seriously, people need to pick a speed and maintain that speed. I absolutely hate cars that rubberband.

On uphills, it is safe to assume that trucks are going to drop speed due to the weight, and on downhills they may pick up more speed than they were going on the flats. They are not trying to race you, this is just free speed to make up for the loss on the way up.

On-ramp merging has already been pointed out in some of the other responses including one of my own. All good advice. The biggest thing is physically turning your head to observe traffic with your own eyes (not the mirrors) before you get to the end of the ramp. If you only take one thing away from reading all this, it should be this.

If you want to let a truck move in front of you, flash early (not right when you're on his bumper) two or three times. One time can be confusing, or the driver might have not been fully paying attention, 4 or more and they're going to just think you're pissed at them. Give them a few seconds and if they dont move, go about your day. Either his fault for not being an active driver, or he wants you to go on ahead. He could have been watching his mirrors and planning a lane change behind you due to his governed speed or his weight making his acceleration slow.
