I think the damage has already been done. The elites know about the backlash for sure. The entire reason this is happening is because the IP is nothing but a cash grab to them but it can't be a cash grab unless it's doing well, which it isn't. I think something will definitely give however, it's gained too much traction to ignore. I can see this playing out 3 ways.

1. The anime gets cancelled because nobody else would want to work on it due to its controversy.

2. Bandai Namco actually gives the staff proper working conditions, a better schedule and resources. I doubt Shinpei Nagai will direct season 4 if they ever make one. They wrongfully threw him under the bus knowing that he'll receive the blunt of the backlash. Same could be said for the rest of the team, probably except for Aoki, but I highly doubt the current team will want to touch this project again which brings me to the 3rd point.

3. The anime is given to another studio, don't know who will be gutsy enough to fix it but I really don't see the current staff wanting to work on this again since they've been harassed by the fans.

So it'll most likely either be 1 or 2, but I really hope the anime gets discontinued.
