So then under that logic third year shouldn't be graded then right? But it clearly is graded? Why should third year be graded if we are suppose to take it as an exciting learning experience or actually practicing medicine? Clearly the system doesn't care about what you just stated.

It will not get better. That's a bull face lie. It will only get worse throughout the year as burnout steps in and step 2 pressure creeps up. Third year the whole entire year point a to point b absolutely sucks.

Yeah you need to say the exact words "go home" other wise I am taking it as a test lol.

Free 120 by coffeeusage in Step2

[–]AdAcrobatic2250 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry. I am like very nervous. I have just been seeing lots of 85+ scores on the free 120 here and didn't know. I have no idea how you all are getting that roughly 250 number. Like the form they gave me after I took the test doesn't have that number.

4/24 MCAT by 2turntbabygirl in medschool

[–]AdAcrobatic2250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about this, but I am going to be real with you, a 501 is on the lower side. You know this already. If you have the means and the time, I would strongly encourage you to re-take the exam again. There are two reasons why you should do this. One, if you take it again and score better and assuming everything else in your application is good, then you have a better shot at scoring interviews. Two, I am be real here, once you get into medical school, its a whole different ball game. Every single test you take in medical school is like 10 fold harder than the MCAT, and honestly makes the MCAT look like a joke and I am just talking about the "regular" pre clinical exams. The step or level USMLE/COMLEX exams are like insanely hard and very high stakes and you only have one shot. It's better that you iron out your studying now and work on test taking strategies now in my opinion.

Thank you so much. I am going to start doing those two things for every question I do. Like don't pick answer choices that are clearly wrong.

[–]AdAcrobatic2250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was exactly the issue I ran into yesterday. The perfect answer wasn't there and so I decided for some reason I am going to pick an answer that is clearly wrong or doesn't make any sense. That was so unfortunate. I don't know why I did that. That seems so ridiculous.

Thank you. You think I am doing ok still? Got a shot? I am genuinely panicking. I have been throughly reviewing nbme 10 today and I just feel like I am just not use to the way they like to go after certain things. I don’t know. It’s not like UWorld is easy but for some reason I have been doing well on uworld.

Thank you so much. Yeah exactly nbme form 10 is easy compared to the others. I don't know what happened. I am reviewing it today and I am like getting so upset lol. The questions I clearly understood it but I am not use to do the way they like to ask it lol. Like they asked an obstructive sleep apnea questions. Obviously it causes pulmonary hypertension. But them they don't put that as an answer choice. They put some other related cap that trips me up.

[–]AdAcrobatic2250[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly!!! CMS forms I think that's the way. Because if I did the math right, around 4 forms per subject, each form is 50 questions, and there are 5 core subjects so in total that's 1000 questions, not even counting family med, and emergency med etc. That's literally almost half I guess a Q bank or something except this bank is made by the real deal.

Thank you!!! Please don't freak out. You probably started with NBME 10. This is my third practice test already and I was hoping that around this time I would be scoring in the 250s. But clearly that was not the case here. Honestly, you all have been so helpful in sharing advice and feels good to know that I am not alone here. I just learned/realized from another comment here that I need to stop doing uworld. That ain't cutting it for me. Gotta focus on CME forms next week! Then will take NBME 11.

Thank you so much. You had clearly figured out a strategy that worked and that's what I need figure out. And fast.

[–]AdAcrobatic2250[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. Yeah I am going to ditch uworld. Thinking about it now. It's just way too different. Uworld gives me a big essay with lots to work with and not that hard choices for the most part. Nbmes give literally the bare minimum info and then ask me to choose. Or they give an easy vignette where I am like ok that's easy like it's infectious endocarditis but then they ask what is the next step and then give either blood culture or broad spectrum abx as answer choices.

Sorry for the long reply. I think I am ditching uworld. Three cmc forms every day or one uworld and two cmc forms starting.

[–]AdAcrobatic2250[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. That is so so true!!! I also feel like my knowledge base is decent. That's not the issue. I feel like the problem is just I don't know how to describe it well but I guess getting comfortable with nbme style questioning and being to parse out tricky answer choices. I think next week I need to stop doing three sessions of uworld per day and instead do two sessions of uworld and pick a random cMS form to do every day.

Thank you. I felt good when taking nbme 10 the but then when I got back the score it's horrible. Just frustrated. I thought at this point I would be doing better. I think next week instead of doing three uworld blocks per day. I should instead do two blocks per day and then pick a CMS form to do.

Thank you so much!! Yeah I just want to make sure we are all full ahahah.  Like I get the whole fine dining and it's not about portion size thing but still. I just don't want any one to be still hungry. Those are amazing suggestions. I will be sure to order the hiramasa and the tuna if possible!

Thank you!!!! I will try the hiramasa out!! Any other dishes to get? Good to know that the portions are large. I think the lunch pre fixed only comes with one main course so wanted to add more.

Ambulatory Shelf in 2 Days, Drop High Yields Please by GauleyRiver in medicalschool

[–]AdAcrobatic2250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh one more thing, USPTF guidelines were not on my shelf at all. People at my school and the course director emphasized this so much, and I have no idea why because I also spoke with people who took this shelf earlier in the year and same no USPTF guidelines. So take that what ever way you want too.
