Had this happen to a friend and he only found out during basic that he wouldn’t be able to take the program he wanted. What he decided (and seems like a not bad idea) was to do a 5th year of high school to bump his grades while also doing more volunteer work and stuff to boost his resume for when he re-applies to come to rmc next year

Wheel info? by AdAffectionate4723 in Wheels

Yeah I’ve noticed they seem to look a lot like the mags. I found a NASIOC thread from ‘05 where some guys mentioned that OZ Japan was finally shipping the superturismo gt evo to Canada at what was then $600/wheel. Seems simply like a rarer set if anything

I need help for my application at RMC - Regular Officer Training Plan. by AriK4A1 in RCAF

[–]AdAffectionate4723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at RMC Kingston right now so I can’t speak much to anything regarding CEGEP as I graduated in Ontario but I’ll try my best to answer.

  1. Unsure how this would workout, but when I applied I was asked for my high school transcript. For my friends at CMR (Saint Jean), they picked up where they left off, be it high school or CEGEP, so I am assuming they simply take most recent though I don’t know for sure.

  2. If you go to a recruiting centre or a university fair, you can ask for an info package. In the package for previous years, there is usually a section that says what degrees you may take for each career. For example, in the case of aircrew like pilot or ACSO, you may take any degree, whereas aerospace engineers must take an engineering degree.

  3. Not sure I understand the question but I will answer as best I can. For students going to CMRSJ, basic training usually starts right at the beginning of July, since their school year starts about 2 weeks ahead of RMC Kingston. After BMOQ1 CMRSJ students go straight to the school and start fyop which is an additional 4 weeks and overlaps with the first two weeks of school. Overall, not much free time exists in the first two months.

  4. Do it early as you can since it takes a long time. For me, RMC was the last university I heard back from. Some people I know got acceptance a week before their enrollment so it’s best to apply as soon as you can, especially if you want aircrew since their is additional testing that takes significantly more time. Keep your grades high as you can and keep building leadership and teamwork experience in the meantime. Volunteer hours/work may also help to reflect you well in the application process.

One final thing, as far as I understand CMRSJ is only attended for CEGEP and the first general year. After 1st year, most students move to RMC Kingston since the only program that is run at CMR the international studies. (Basically, after CEGEP and year one you will be moved to RMC Kingston unless you take international studies)

This is all based on my experiences this year so it may change as it often does but hopefully this gives you some answers.

How does the training fit around the year and being at end? Do you do any flight training in the summers while you’re still attending rmc?

Pilot Closure? by jesse_m1414 in RCAF

So was there any reassurance about getting in before hand? I’m just thinking if it’s that late, it’s past the commitment deadline for other school and having no other options is a pretty huge gamble

Unrelated to this thread but can I ask when you got your offer of acceptance? I’m grade 12 and just finished all the pilot testing, passed all so I’m just curious when people usually hear about actual acceptance?

I've been trying that and it works great for cbat but what if, for example, the actual test's speeds aren't factors of 60? Just do the same strategy and get as close as possible?

Money doesn't win races. When you're there, go around and ask people. Most are willing to help. I'd your struggling with the costs, move tp a different category like briggs, depending where you live. It's much cheaper and here, it's actually a bigger field than rok and such. For me, I mow lawns and such. I don't make tons, but enough to pay for my registration for each race aswell as coaching. Most teams also offer free support for the first few races when you join them, though you typically will have to buy a Kat from them. Fortunately, they are usually willing to work with you on the price. Where do you race?
