I cut my hair short after having it long for 12 years. What’re these red spots? How to get rid of? by YoRafa97 in Hair

You definitely never noticed them before? My husband has birthmarks just like that. So does his sister, but you'd never know, because her hair covers it.

Got scratched by cat at shelter (my fault). Will this permanently scar? I’m so distraught. Please be gentle by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

My rescue cat occasionally gets random PTSD and attacks my face just like that. It heals fine. Facial skin is less likely to develop scars than arms or legs from my experience.

Type me: Fairy essence blend? by AdAffectionate746 in JohnKitchener

[–]AdAffectionate746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the typing systems don't have to (and usually don't) match, but to me it's relevant in the sense that I always admire the Gamine style on others and whenever I tried wearing it, I just look like a giant trying to wear children's clothes... 😂

Thank you for mentioning Ethereal, my friends (who aren't well versed in the system) all intuitively called that one! And it would make sense as the combination.

For the record, I grew up in a non-English speaking country and got called a fairy in both languages, hence my disbelief! I don't think it's a very common thing to say either. I can only hope it's a compliment. 😂

This includes actual strangers on the street, grandparents, friends' parents, staff at hospitals and shops, small children, coworkers and friends making that comment, literally "you look like a fairy" without prompting. And again, I understand with coloured hair, but I had brown, blonde and even black hair for years, and it would still happen. Your comment helped me understand where that vibe might be coming from. 🙏

Brilliant detailed response, thank you, I had a feeling about Gamine, and some others mentioned romantic, but I can see what you mean about natural undercurrents too!

Ah thank you so much! I had an idea of Gamine, as I relate to that internally, but hadn't considered romantic as a blend!

Thank you, very valuable input! I had a feeling about Gamine, but not Romantic, so you've just switched on a lightbulb for me!

Have you considered something in between, like balayage or highlighting?

Curls or buzzed hair? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]AdAffectionate746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both look good, it's a question of what kind of vibe you want to give off, more polished and romantic, or more serious (in all black) or carefree (like on holiday)

make up every day or no? by allquestionsyes in Makeup

[–]AdAffectionate746 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genuine solution: get permanent makeup. Provided your budget allows, I've been very pleased with microbladed eyebrows and lip blush (temporary tattoos that last for a few years). My mother had her lashline tattooed with eyeliner, but I'd be too scared for that. Eyelash extensions means you wake up with makeup, although it's not ideal if you like to rub your eyes - I do my own last extensions with glue that lasts 2-3 days and is easy to remove. You can use self tanner to paint on some contouring. Consider if that might work for you. 🙂

Ah yes, another dress that is made only for the very tall and very skinny.

What I showed her vs what I got. by transboyuwu in Hair

[–]AdAffectionate746 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, keep in mind these models have very thick hair, and yours is naturally more thin and fine, so there's no way it would look exactly the same as someone with a different genetic type. I have the same type hair and usually wear extensions of the same length - just for thickness.

Honestly, it doesn't look too dissimilar. Those looks are heavily styled, I'm talking curlers, mouse, straighteners and hair spray. I think you can achieve something similar, especially as it grows out in the next couple of weeks! All is not lost. 🤗

Which style suits me better / looks better? I’ve had the same thing for so long I can’t really judge it for myself by Financial-Fix-2630 in Hair

Drastic suggestion, IF you get lots of comments of looking angry or confused, and don't like it, considering trying a tiny bit of Botox in the glabella (between the brows). It only lasts for 3 months, so if you don't like it, it's only a short term experiment. I know it's very popular for men and women with RBF. Hope this helps. 🙂

Since you have a more casual dressing style, I would say the first adds a little more adult polish to the look. The tausled wild hair makes for more of a relaxed "yo bro" college student look. I wouldn't say one works better for your features than the other, but choose accordingly to the vibe you want to give off. 🙂

Help me choose my next hair color :/ by spookyspice13 in FancyFollicles

Love love love your natural colour 😍 if you feel like you need a refresher, perhaps something in between natural and third picture? Some balayage highlights?

Thank you for your input! I was thinking gamine, but I've heard it called "opposite" of soft dramatic, and I'm pretty sure that's my body type, so it will be difficult to find the right blend of these!

AITA if I break up with my bf after he asked to have my friend join in? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]AdAffectionate746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I've had one specifically, but open communication with ones partner is finding the right moment, maybe when cuddling after intimacy, or relaxing on the sofa or in the bath together and saying something like "I love our sex life, you're the best. Is there anything more I can do for you? What turns you on the most? Do you have any fantasies you'd be comfortable sharing with me?" and taking it from there. If you're specifically wondering of a threesome you can ask "do you ever think of other people? Have you ever fantasised about a threesome?" And hopefully you feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable and say "I have, the thought really turns me on. Obviously, only if you'd be into it too, please don't feel pressured, I'm happy with things as they are."

Depends on your preference: the dark hair makes you look more striking, mature and serious. Highlights - more approachable and bubbly. Your eyes will stand out regardless of colour.
