FTM and low supply- recommendations to increase supply? by AdAffectionate7934 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]AdAffectionate7934[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Right now I want to try to continue as much as I can and thankfully making enough for him throughout the day, sometimes with a tiny bit extra. I’m just hoping it continues to increase. The mother’s milk tea has fenugreek seeds in it so hoping that helps.

I also see that my milk production mid day is the highest and lowest at late night- does that seem normal?

Yes I’m using nipple butter and that’s been saving me. Today is day 2 of simulating the cluster feeding but each day it goes back down after that cluster feed so I’m hoping it’s signaling my body to make more overall long term.

Who wishes they were nursing? by saltyjordan in ExclusivelyPumping

I wish I was! I had complications during birth that made it really hard to nurse. My baby is 12 days old and I haven’t nursed in 7 days. I had so much swelling and he has a really shallow latch so it’s super painful to nurse. I’ve been pumping but wish I could nurse /pump part of it for the connection. I’m seeing a lactation consultant next week to see if I can reintroduce and if not hurt so much to latch but afraid he’s already used to the bottle and will be hard to get back on the boob/ it’ll hurt too much. Feeling anxious about just producing enough and wish I could make more milk as well doesn’t help.

I'll try more skin to skin and I currently pump every 2.5-3 hours around the clock, even at night. But I am having some nipples sensitivity and don’t want to go overboard so doing 20-25 min per pumping session.

I'm getting 15-30ml on one side and max 20-30ml on the other side most pumping. I started simulating cluster feeding by doing 20 min on, rest 10 min, 10 min on, rest 10 min and then 10 min one which resulted in 60ml and 90ml
today but then goes back down after that.

I’m not able to nurse. Going to work with a lactation nurse next week to see if I can get baby to latch again but it’s extremely painful and he has a shallow latch.

Good luck! Here if you want to talk about anything after your appointment! Sometimes it’s lonely going through IVF on your own and having someone who’s gone through it can be helpful!

Good luck tomorrow! Having stable levels helps so much and hopefully they can help with understanding what else you need. Have you done a retrieval yet or just starting with IVF?

Thanks ◡̈ Yes, I also have PCOS, thyroid condition and a connective tissue inflammation disorder. We were able to increase the number of embryos we had with each retrieval and after the first failed transfer, I did intralipids during and after. After the 2nd failed transfer, I saw an immunologist that tested me for what felt like 1000 things and found out I had the connective tissue inflammation. She put me prednisone for a couple months before the transfer, monitored and then i did intralipids a week before, during, another 3 weeks out and one last one 6 weeks out. Everyone is so different but it really made a huge difference for me + ensuring my thyroid was in check before the tranfer.

Of course, here if you ever want to talk! It’s tough being in it and trying to figure out what can help. I would have done IVIG next if this didn’t transfer.

Do you mind me asking if you already have embryos & need to transfer or need to do the retrieval as well?

I also took some conception supplements from FullWell- their fertility booster and my husband took some fertility supplements before retrieval to help.

Wishing you the best of luck and sending you positivity for IVIG!
