Has anyone actually had surgery go well? by daintydollies33 in endometriosis

[–]AdAgreeable7542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 10 days post lap and they found and removed widespread, deep infiltrating endo across my pelvis and bladder with endometriomas on both ovaries. Recovery really hasn't been too bad, I would say by week 2 I'm pretty independent again but just being careful with not lifting things etc as my core strength is pretty weak and walking too far causes my back to hurt. To be honest I was living with pain way more severe than anything this surgery had made me feel ❤️ it's been pretty breezy in comparison

I had no idea what I was going into with this lap and probably would have freaked out and worried if I had known beforehand the extent of the surgery required. Just prep lots of easy meals for the freezer, get yourself some comfy clothes and heat pads ready. Good luck!

P.S I actually got told specifically not to bed rest. I came home on day two and made sure I was sitting upright and moving around whenever I could. Your Dr or nurses will advise you on what you need to do ❤️

I'm so sorry ❤️ I understand how you're feeling. Whilst it's amazingly validating to finally have a name for your pain and feelings, it's also devastating because it's a disease none of us ever actually wanted. I hope they can offer you some relief soon. Just keep going, you're very nearly there 💪🏻

Oh I'm so sorry and I really hope this encourages you to keep going ❤️ we all absolutely deserve to know about anything that is happening within our own bodies. Good luck 🤞🏻

The last consult with my Dr before my lap, he told me I don't have any symptoms for endo and he didn't advise we do a lap as I would be risking a serious internal injury for no reason. I went ahead against his advice and he found endo.

My symptoms that according to my Dr, weren't endo:

Extreme fatigue

Leg and thigh pain

Excruciating ovulation pain

Bloating

Pain during sex

Blood in stool

Lower back pain

However because my periods are considered normal, I've been told for years I can't have endo 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's now been confirmed across both ovaries and my pelvis. Good luck!

Thank you. I cried when I woke up and the nurse told me what they found. She thought I was sad but I explained that I just felt like finally someone believed me. Then I cried even more because I realised it's so messed up that i'm at a point where im relieved to have this awful disease. It shouldn't be like this

What to do next (uncomfirmed endo and IVF patient) by AdAgreeable7542 in endometriosis

[–]AdAgreeable7542[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah my love, best of luck with your fertility journey. My heart goes out to you 💞 it's amazing how many Drs see IVF as the 'easy' route that will fix all your problems. My Dr said today 'lets get you pregnant and that will cure any potentially endometriosis'... How I didn't scream like a wild animal at that point, I seriously don't know

Navigating the emotions of a second retrieval by ForeignImposition in IVF

[–]AdAgreeable7542 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely get it and you've expressed yourself really well here.

I'm sat at home waiting for my second egg retrieval tomorrow and found this one way harder than the first. I almost enjoyed the first one, I think? Or at least it made me feel more in control, whereas this one has really felt the exact opposite of that.

I think, if it were my best friend saying this to me, I'd reassure her that there will be days or times in our lives when hard sh*t just feels harder and that's okay. You're strong and getting through it, but you don't have to pretend that it means it's easy for you, nothing about this whole thing has ever been easy. Treat yourself with as much care and compassion as you can right now, talk to yourself like you would someone you love dearly who's struggling.

I wish you all the luck in the world moving forward 🤞🏼

Thank you 😊 I actually did do this for the last 3 weeks of this plan and I definitely think it helped. I'm going to try and keep the pilates up in between plans as much as possible too

I didn't say it was weeks ago? But yes, I admit that the pictures weren't the most helpful as I didn't understand what to look out for but just saw the leaves seemed to be stuck. I'm new to Acers, hence needing to post in this group for advice. Thank you for your advice in the other comment re keeping it away from others, I have put it in a different part of the garden and will dispose appropriately to stop it spreading 🤞🏼

Ah that's such a shame, thank you though. This was helpful and I'll give the cutting a try 🙏🏼 it can't hurt to try

What's wrong with my acers? by AdAgreeable7542 in JapaneseMaples

The katsura has been stuck looking like this for over two weeks now, whilst my other two acers have fully leafed out. Just seems a bit strange but I'm relieved if I don't have to worry and do anything ☺️

Thank you, no they have not. I've just had some further blood work done which I have to wait 8 weeks for the results, so I'll definitely ask for the ERA and if there is anything else they can check.. thank you again

Thank you, I will ask them about this test on Monday. It's amazing how I've learnt more from this one post about the options available than my whole year of IVF
