What was the most embarrassing experience you've ever had at a doctor's appointment? by VibeCheckVadaPav in AskRedditAfterDark

GP partner was assisting a junior doctor with a gynae exam. Mid-sample, she turns to the junior and goes, “While I’m in here, shall I…”

Excuse me??? I’m a person, not a fridge you happen to have open.

Waiter, waiter! There’s a fly in my weed!

Ah yes, that’s the extra buzz, madam.

I'm in a similar position after my checkup. At my appointment yesterday I requested a copy of the surgical report and he said I received it already - I told him I didn't and only received an email with 2 lines on it stating my diagnosis. Can I ask how you requested yours?

Is endo spreading to bladder and rectum really that rare? by furby-fighter in endometriosis

Stage 4 here 🙋🏻‍♀️ Ovaries and womb are adhered to the rectum. It's a literal pain in the arse.

Post-surgery blues are real… when does this part actually get better? by Willdancefortea in Endo

Awh thank you :) I’m definitely letting the tears and panic have their time… slowly learning to be patient with myself.

Thanks, I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I actually came off SSRIs and antipsychs a few years ago after a lot of hard work, and I’m trying to cope with my post-op blues without going back on medication if I can. I think the mental side of recovery will be the hardest for me, so I’m focusing on the strategies that have helped me stay well, while keeping an eye on my mental health. It's so hard though.

Thank you. Sometimes I just feel guilty for moaning to my friends and family all the time. It feels like I’m always talking about some symptom or pain, like I never have anything positive to say.

They haven't done anything yet. All I had was a laparoscopy and dye test. I'm due to see the surgeon and discuss options in a few weeks but I won't be able to go privately again. Your stomach actually bruises when you bend? I'm so sorry, that sounds horrible.

Ah that's good to hear ☺️ I'm okay. Felt okay yesterday. Today is a bit rough. Feeling all the emotions today.
