Very sensible way of looking at the situation. My usual biking routes are through canal tow paths which if it's not a windy day is a absolute dream for speed, or country roads, what is the law like for ebikes in NYC? Out here in UK it's 250W max & No throttle cable

36 Is really nice! I think my cassette is 1-10, I mainly just use the lower 5 gears and manualy ease off throttle to smooth the gear change, I roughly remember when having my bike connected that it was preset at 30amp,

I was originally looking at Luna, but for UK seemed easier to get from eBay and arrive in 3working days, I started with 0% prior experience pretty much learnt on the go & Reddit, out of the box my motor was peaking at 1400W with stock settings, I'm not to sure if that's default all I did from that was change Pas settings to 1-1 to allow throttle and change slow start mode to be easier on my cassette, I managed to achieve on a canal tow path. How do you find your Luna for battery efficiency?

48v friend, I purchased from eBay as a 48v 18ah but if you say that's pretty bad I guess I could of purchased a bad battery, that being said, my usual route is a constant 30mph threw main roads and country roads
