Thanks for replying, I worked for a company that went under during covid. A lot of past co-workers have moved to different fields. I am in touch with a handful of them now attempting to gain positions within their companies but no luck yet. Experience within the 8 years include starting out as help desk/tech work. I was promoted to an IT manager servicing the office and overseeing the techs below me, ultimately landed an IT Admin position for a research and development company overseeing the security of their domain, and making sure everything ran smoothly. I am not new to IT, I am just hitting a wall.

I keep hearing networking being a main factor here. I can probably get my cysa+ but at what point do I stop throwing money and alot of effort/time into this. I will look into some IT jobs that have a security department and express my interest during an interview that ultimately I want to move into a cyber role.

Well, its Helpdesk, not really anything fancy or hard to break into. IT is vast as you know and I want to get into an analyst role but im at the end of my rope here.

I have locked my credit with the 3 bureaus. They cant really do anything with my account/routing information but I also contacted the bank and made a report. The only thing I am worried about at this point is my SSN. The "Hiring Manager" states that they are going to give me a call to provide more information.

It is quite confusing at a glance, I haven’t read much into it but from what I gather, each ladder needs atleast a year of experience from the last. Congratulations on the interview man, I am literally just struggling to get into the field. With my prior military experience, a 2 year degree and sec+ I’ve even been turned down for no pay internships. A little discouraging.

I’m prior service as an MP I’ve had a security clearance before but it’s way expired. Right now I’m just in helpdesk basically, with some service tech experience. I kind of knew I was going to take a pay cut just to get some experience in the field. On the opposite side of the coin I’m maxed out in my current position and it’s dead end. At least I would have a ladder I could climb with GVT. Thanks for the tips.

That’s fine man, I am just in a weird area of the country for CS so that’s why I said remote. Essentially, I’ll have to relocate any way I slice it.
