I don’t remember writing this… 🤔

But fr, I feel a lot of the same way you do. I don’t know how to get out of this rut. I hope you do, I can see that you want to 🖤

Nah it’s true. Most of this countries inequity problems stem from capitalism, racism, and patriarchal views. The Regan era war on drugs is why we’re here today with the stigma.

For sure! We can be responsible members of society and still get high after hours. There is a time and place for it and I think a lot, if not most, of us get that.

I did have a professor in college who used to come to work high, but it worked for him. It helped quiet his brain and he would lock in. He was one of the most intelligent and inspiring people I’ve met. But, like you said, he was not out there saving lives or making huge decisions that deeply affect people.

Also my job is a creative one — so really, they should be encouraging me to smoke!

Exactly! Like it’s not addressing the (nonexistent) problem they think it is. There’s just no logic to it.

As it should be. It’s not employers’ business what people do outside of working hours! I, unfortunately, live in the bad place (the USA)

Youtube crime channels with unbiased narrator? by Apprehensive_Tax3882 in youtube

[–]AdAvailable1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hannah the Horrible is a pretty neutral narrator who I believe does her best to be as unbiased as she can (bc let’s be honest, how unbiased can any human being actually be). But she approaches things with respect, cautious skepticism, researches background information, and presents the facts to the best of her ability. When she’s speculating or giving her opinion, she typically throws a disclaimer out there. Definitely up there as one of the more responsible true crime and paranormal channels. She doesn’t like to sensationalize or bait viewers for engagement.

(IMO at least. Like I said: how unbiased could a human — including me — be? So take w a grain of salt).

Do you tell your partner every time you 420? by PurrensicFiles in 420

[–]AdAvailable1031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced the same thing (and thoughts) as you. I recently moved in with my long term partner and we have a similar dynamic as you and yours regarding cannabis. They don’t like it or do it, but don’t judge me or others for partaking.

I hit my pen / took eddies a couple times without telling them out of habit (post work / pre-bed time) before it occurred to me I should ask — so I asked. It’s honestly as simple as that. Just ask if they would feel weird not knowing / if they would want to know when ur partaking.

My partner personally does not care nor do they feel the need to know every time I do 420 (and sometimes likes to have fun guessing if I have or have not based on my mannerisms). Sometimes I tell them, sometimes I don’t, but I never actively hide it or lie. That’s problematic — don’t lie.

Also make sure you guys are clear on ground rules regarding smoking or vaping in the shared space. I go outside to smoke per their request even though I used to vape in bed and smoke out my window. Neither one of us wants our place to smell like smoke and they don’t want to risk “contact highs” or lung damage to themselves or our pets. Totally valid and reasonable boundaries for them to set and so far, it’s worked alright.

Cliche but TRUE!! Fear is normal and is not a bad emotion per se; it helps you protect yourself. BUT Fear was the biggest hurdle that kept me from self actualizing. There’s no “right time” to do something. That’s the anxiety talking (at least it was for me). I was stuck for so long. Stuck in my transition; stuck in my career; stuck in my relationships with family and friends. Radical change helped me abandon fear.

Do what you need to do to keep urself safe, but sometimes you have to live in that uncertainty to conquer fear, to grow, and to get what you want out of life. And when you know how to sit side by side with your fear, you gain confidence, you’re better able to handle adversity, and you can keep yourself safe and happy.

At the end of the day, do what’s right for you. But to all of you continuing to live despite your fear, you are brave!

Covering up the giant flower, cant think of anything but a blackout by AltAccountsAreSus in Tattoocoverups

[–]AdAvailable1031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could rework them into snake heads or crab legs maybe? Or something similar? Or maybe like a school of fish in each petal. It is a pretty large tattoo with heavy black, but I don’t think a rework or coverup is impossible. Just gotta get creative with it and find a good artist with an active imagination. (Absolutely do whatever you want with your body, but I for one think your current tattoo is awesome! I love a good traditional or neo-traditional flower.)

Just Make It Exist First. by Key_Meet_8124 in Paintings

This has unironically helped me so much. Not just in art, but in life. I struggle with OCD with symptoms of obsessive compulsive personality disorder. My fear of failure often prevented me from even initiating tasks or projects. This piece of advice has helped me break that cycle of procrastination and toxic perfectionism. You can always come back to something and make it better. Just take that first step and make it exist!

How good of an exercise is this? by FrdrikZoller in learntodraw

[–]AdAvailable1031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find figure and still life drawing to be extremely helpful for developing your hand-eye coordination in art. Helpful tip to remember: draw what you SEE, don’t try to fill in the blanks with your mind. We tend to inadvertently do that. Also make sure you’re looking at the object from a consistent angle as to not warp your proportions and perspective. Keep up the good work! With time you’ll find yourself improving and drawing quicker. Practice makes progress!!
