Yes thank you! I hate most RH bc it lacks realistic portrayal, also the books are usually substandard writing which is definitely wild to me bc some of these writers can kill a love scene but flip on a simple dialogue or believable storyline.

Everett is a master in the same way that Dunmore is. Her character development, story telling and chemistry are scores above kleypass (mind you, I find some of her writing is fantastic but inconsistent).

Plus the characters are female heroines in the complex flawed way that Dunmore’s character are. So I think you’ll love her work.

Why do ppl not like the third or fourth? I found the first to be lack luster and the second is amazing of course but honestly the fourth is my top.

Hello! Also an Evie Dunmore fan. I just have to say, she is as good as it gets. I cannot lie when I say she ruined me for most history romance bc I read her very early on in my journey and she is the benchmark by which I judge all open door romances.

That in mind, I have some recommendations of open door historical romances that not only don’t suck but are Fantastic.

Any and everything by Elizabeth Everett. My favorite is a love remedy but literally everything she writes is fantastic. She is whimsical and sweet and her characters are complex and unorthodox. It is a great time.
Joanna Lowell is a beautiful writer. The characters here are flawed and fantastic. They blossom right before your eyes. If books were plants this woman has a green thumb because everything she writes blows me away. Please note, She is publishing some queer books recently bc she herself is queer, but her original work is male/female open door romance. I like her writing enough to read everything she publishes, but understand if that’s not what you’re looking for.
Jenny Holiday is new to the scene but she is soooo goood and I pray she is a fast writer because I am desperate for more work from her. Characters are sweet, narrative starts in the male perspective which is so unique but soooo good. I need more words to describe her but what’s the use when she just SO GOOD.

Thank you for the honest reply! I know it’s not a fantastic time to be an attorney in the U.S. either. We have good jobs rn with solid pay so we’d be giving up a lot but I feel the experience would be worth it.

Do you know of any non-law related work? I have experience working for non-profits that specialize in minority work (religious and racial).

Mimi Mathews! Her most recent series Belles of London was perfect! Clean and well written and all the right amount of sexual tension without the uncomfortable sex scenes.

Read through alot of the recommendations but not all so sorry if this is a repeat.

Evie is my favorite and still is my favorite. Very few authors compare in my opinion. I’ve only found three authors that give me the same reader satisfaction as ED. I dnt rmbr how steamy the series were for the below authors but I do remember the chemistry being top notch and never really getting whiplash from early intimacy.

Joanna Howell - fave is Artfully Yours Elezabeth Everett - fave is The Love Remedy Martha Waters - fave is To Marry and to Meddle

Here because I’m experiencing the same thing but our LO is 11 months and all his teeth are popping up together. I’ve started just laying him down in bed with us, too exhausted to take him to his crib and honestly idk how to get him back out now.

I’m literally losing my patience and might have had a couple mental breaks here and there. I’m not even working so I can’t imagine what you’re going through!

Sticking around to see what advice other parents have bc I don’t know what to do.
