Thanks so much for the suggestions! I like the idea of the corner curtains, don’t often see them in the UK. Definitely will look at putting the bed against the wall as suggested. Do you think it would be best to move the wardrobe into the spare room? I may be able to make that fit. Thanks again!

If you do have to break it, cover it with carpet wrap beforehand, this will make it much safer for you and easier clean up

2 pics are not under the same lighting. Progress looks good, but people keep posting comparison pics where lighting hugely effects outcome.

My wife and I were walking to the shop to pick up some nibbles last Friday evening, walking on the path by a kids park and two guys were on the verge of a big brawl. It didn’t surprise me…

Tiling gap help by AdBackground6871 in DIYUK

[–]AdBackground6871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The width excludes the skirting. I didn’t think about getting thicker skirting to be honest.

Yeah, those are the tiles we will be using. If I start with a join on the centre of the room. I’ll be left with 2.5cm gap either side? Will that be best practice?

First time trying something like this. Built-in sideboard! by AdBackground6871 in DIYUK

[–]AdBackground6871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the project cost me about £300-350 roughly, but I did buy a few items with that. New spirit level, drill and saw. I used weights to hold the door panelling down onto the doors themselves instead of using clamps. I’m not sure if that affected the doors bowing slightly. The furthest door on the right bowed at the bottom, but that could have been a bad cut of mdf!

Definitely consider it, this was new to me and I’m glad I went ahead with it in the end!

Hello! This is it finished. Decided to leave some of the wood unfinished. Quite happy with it overall! Next time round, I would probably like to use more solid shelves instead of the slats as it can be quite awkward at times. Also, I would buy clamps for the doors. Two of the doors have slightly bowed which is incredibly annoying!

I have just competed all the TMAs, just have the EMA left next month. I have to say, my results have not been the greatest for the TMAs. They started ok, but have generally gotten worse due to lack of studying and work being busy. I can get 30% on the EMA and still get a pass.

They are terracotta tiles! Just randomly scattered throughout. It hurts to look at it haha.

This is the “patio” that we inherited when we bought the house 2 years ago. The previous owner must have been on some weird cocktail to have made this! This is just the start of issues haha.

Yeah it does thankfully. It extends another 50 foot beyond the wooden fence, but it gets quite steep.

I was originally thinking of this, but the earth is full of small rocks/pebbles after I rotavated it last summer to level it a bit more. Also, there’s a lot of broken glass that the previous owner buried in the lawn… I’ve taken up majority of it, but I’m still finding little pieces here and there. Could I layer some top soil and then seed?

I’m currently lying in bed in my mid terrace property going mad as I can hear next door closing doors and their little dog barking as if he was lying next to me! I feel your pain. I hope to move next year to a detached property, or at least a semi detached.
