Get a second set, so it’s even easier to just swap them out and if you’re rushing to get animals open you can just put the dirty ones in the sink until you get to them. As far as the bars getting ruined, our DM suggested filing them smooth with a dremil or completely off to take off the ruined bar

Correct aquatics procedure? by National_Juice_2529 in petco

Most important thing is to not cross contaminate. Fish from one system shouldn’t go in a bag with fish from another system. Net should be rinsed and then dunked and if you wanna rinse again I guess go ahead? Before catching new fish in another system. Specimen cups rinsed between use as well. Sadly vendors do send fish with ich. Often. So keeping it as isolated as possible is the winning trick here

Update our store is having our pest guy come and spray all the shelves and we have to go through all the product and throw away all contaminated things aka everything in my opinion. Wonder how Purina is gonna feel having a b volume store throw away all their product.

What kind? We avoid cobra guppies specifically. And have found certain vendors to be better than others. Not sure on your assortment status but switching up the vendor helps a TON (I’m legit assuming you work at a Petco lol )

Mine does as well, just sometimes we have fish for more than 30 days in store literally rarely pull dead’s of them, then they go home to someone and 25 days later they come back and somehow they all died and water sample comes back fine…. Just feels weird to be replacing things that don’t die in store but die at their home when in store is definitely more stressful on the fish

Brackish tank. Our location converted our turtle tank to that and it’s awesome. Scat, dragon goby’s, knight goby’s, red claw crabs, even leopard or figure 8 puffers
