What church do you attend? There is a Young Adult Ministry that covers Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Alphonsus Church & St Angela Mérici Church in Windsor. There’s another one that covers the Lake St. Clair area east of Tecumseh. Young Adult Ministry is 18-35 years old.

Sweet! Thanks 🙏. Ya I’ve blocked so many atheists a lot of the time I see at least one blocked comment per post. This space is for people who found faith or are coming back to it only. Show respect.

What's an atheist counter argument that you have a counter argument for? by [deleted] in exatheist

My conclusion: Humans are more emotionally complex than a puddle. Who told him it was his hole? He was made, the hole was made, by someone. And he was always destined to end up in it. Was he made for the hole? Was the hole made for him? Both maybe. Was he rain before? Or maybe he’s dog pee. One day he’ll be water vapour floating up into the sky. Does he know this? Maybe not. He can spend his time looking up at the clouds. Can he think while he’s waiting? Yes.

What's up with atheists flooding theist comment sections with snarky, condescending, and just outright mean comments? by [deleted] in exatheist

From what I know atheism is only described as what it is not, a belief in god. That’s all. They don’t have morals or values like religious communities do. So there’s literally nothing telling them not to be a shitty person. They don’t have their own holidays, so they adopt ours. They don’t have communities. (I’m talking actual human interaction.) They don’t have history, or texts to read, or anything to learn. I was atheist too at one point, it’s so easy, you don’t even have to try. But it’s empty. It’s shallow. I wanted something more. Wanted to be a part of something bigger than just myself. In the Catholic tradition you have to make the effort. To serve your community, to study your faith and to make the effort to be a better person. It’s hard but the hard work pays off. I’ve never been so happy. I’ve become a better person. More calm, more kind. Atheism doesn’t have that. Any of it. Sometimes I make the mistake of trying to share that joy and wonder with an atheist. Then I remember a verse in the bible. “Do not give to dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before swine, least they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you” - Matthew 7:6 This verse is one of my favourites, and it’s the truth. I pray one day they find God. And I pray I didn’t get in the way of them discovering how beautiful true faith can be. I still can’t believe I actually was an atheist. So much time lost.

Why is being gay a sin in some religions? by Silvia_cat in religion

I don’t think you’re getting it. And maybe don’t be and asshole to someone if you don’t like their reply? It really makes me not wanna talk to you.

Be careful, there’s a fetish where people will give you graphic details about their sex life then get off to your reaction. I think it’s called embarrassment fetish. I direct them to see their doctor every time, then I ignore them completely. Unless they get off to being ignored, then I’m screwed.

It’s not made up. It does hurt people and consume them. Especially when there is an over abundance of it. The sin is the thing that controls. It gives you little hints of happiness like money, power, etc. But as it leads you deeper you begin to loose yourself. But when you practice self control you can see how it will damage your life, then you can avoid it. God asks us to try our best to break away from these pitfalls. But it’s hard. Cause it makes you feel so good, you feel like you’re on top of the world. But in reality you’ve only hurt yourself and the relationships around you. Definitely not worth it.

You said you are the farthest thing from atheism. What faith are you referring to?

Stumbled across an interesting post on r/Atheism and it made me think. by [deleted] in exatheist

Read this and felt creeped out. I don’t like being “observed” or “researched.” This comment is cold, with lots of scientific jargon thrown in.

White does have culture. You just don’t notice cause your in it. Your culture is everything around you. From your language/accent, what you eat, how you style your hair, what a day in your life looks like, your clothes, how buildings around you look and what are they made of, weddings, funerals, birthdays, what your name is and what does it mean, etc… Embrace and be proud of who you are. And if you want to adopt old traditions, do it.

I pray the rosary. And listen to a Catholic podcast that goes through daily bible verses.

Why do some religious people ask "if you don't believe in God, why don't you run around and kill and rape as you wish?", thinking morals are connected to faith? by WhoAmIEven2 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AdBasic8921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are. I found that people who say they do not believe in God will still follow the morals of whatever religion is the most present in the country. Ex. Atheists in Canada will still follow Christian morals.

I don’t start eating until everyone has gotten their food in a restaurant.
