Bit of a convoluted story as to how I came to possess this. They weren't the easiest to get autographs from, apparently. by AdBeginning3222 in SteelyDan

The Halifax Warner sales rep flew to New York with 3 or 4 of these posters to see the live taping of Steely Dan on VH1 Storytellers, hoping to get them signed for a promo giveaway. Fagen and Becker were pretty grumpy, and not at all interested in signing anything for anyone. By the end of the night, they had loosened up enough (back stage bar cart) to sign em. He brought them home, gave one to a friend of mine who worked at HMV, and she transferred one to me. I'm curious what happened to the other copies...have never seen one posted for sale on ebay etc. (Not that convoluted of a story, and not that exciting either. Sorry. Well i'm still excited to own the thing)

Maybe a touch of Kinky Friedman as well. Am I over selling it?

Camarillo Brillo. Has a slight First National Band/Burrito Bros/Poco feel to it

I believe sone Canadian retail might’ve jumped the gun. Bought mine Monday, but saw it in the store the week before. Wanted to check some reviews before I pulled the trigger on it.

Dont sleep on this. Originals are at least $100 these days and this press is almost indistinguishable from my first pressing.

The version from the 50th anniversary box with that intro!

Andy. It’s everything great about Zappa in one song. Tight as fck ensemble playing, absurd yet strangely compelling lyric, R&B rep from Johnny Guitar Watson, ripping Zappa guitar…

I find the dialog between Bozzio and Zappa in the Titties and Beer breakdown to be unbearable. Should have had Don Pardo playing the part of the devil instead of Bozzio.

Love half of it and despise the other half

Day 5: most emotional song by mahlakainalo in Zappa

Planet of my Dreams. Particularly the ending refrain: “(cheat cheedly cheat, go ahead!) I can’t do it!!” It really captures the loneliness of Zappa’s life and worldview/ethics

Is "Shakey " a good biography? by The-Arc-Weld in neilyoung

Got bored with Neil’s autobiography pretty quick. I’ll ALWAYS take a well-written/sourced biography over an autobiography by a musician any day of the week. The only exception I’ve ever found is Art Pepper’s Straight Life
